I never understood in this book why Voltaire would pick up the scroll and attempt to read it. According to him he despises everything that the Lords did. He only got the scroll to protect it. Why is he reading it. The entire story is different if voltan does what he said he was looking out to do

I just finished series. I thought the books were great in the beginning,I blew through those. This last book took m e 3 weeks... It just doesn't intrigue me the way all the others did. Scale 1-10, I give it a 8❤
