Well, it's New Year's Eve and I just finished listening to this story. I want to say this as briefly as possible: I have been severely ill with a bad case of Long COVID for over two years now, and have to spend almost all my time resting in bed. During this, I have had ample time to catch up on my favorite form of modern literature, science fiction. I began reading and collecting SF at a very young age, and during the 60s and 70s I became very active in fandom and got to know and correspond with many of the great writers. During this time of being laid up at home I have been able to go back and review most of the classics I grew up on, all the way back to ee doc smith, Edmond Hamilton and Murray Leinster, up to the modern giants, Bradbury Asimov and Heinlein etc, and have, for the first time in over 40 years had a chance to catch up on the more recent plethora of new writers. Some of the old stuff has stood the test of time, yet some of it is not as great as I remember it: some of the more recent guys are pretty good, many others not so good, but with this series of Rogue Star you, in my opinion have written one of the two or three best series in recent years. I am pretty stingy with my stars, but this is really a five star series ( top rating)!and you have written something worthy of my highest praise. Like most good series, I am sad and sorry to hear it end. After over two years of voraciously devouring all the audiobooks available online, I am really finding hard to find any more good stories, so I HOPE YOU WRITE MORE SF! I'm not much of a fan of fantasy or similar genres but please write more GOOD SF; we need it!

While it may not be a genre I can get into, I'm personally more for high fantasy, can I just say that I love seeing you uploading once more! I really enjoy your books. I do struggle now, as a carer, to afford to buy paperback books like I usually prefer - and even audiobooks are a hit to the wallet some cant afford - so you sharing your audiobooks this way is amazing! I have bought 2 books of one of my favourite series of yours so far, i'll be slow to buy the rest, but I have so much respect for you sharing your tales and imagination like this and letting us enjoying it with you regardless of our financial situation. Hey James, I've finally and just now finished listening to your story and it has been as good as I hoped it to be. Well done! What a joy :) I have to say that you had me burst out with laughter regarding those fish on Marcus's ship! The whole fish thingy was just too funny :) What I really like about your writing style is how easy it is to inhale a whole story while feeling good all the time. If milk was the base of storytelling then yours would be like flakes of whipped cream compared to heavy chunks of butter of the others out there. :D Keep going man, and - you ARE a good sci-fi author! I've always loved this series. :)

I really like it😊 But i was disappointed that the events that led Markus to meeting Iaka were just a coincidence. They just happened to get a ping from a ship on a trade route? And Iaka just happened to be in a hibernation chamber instead of some other form of confinement? Who attacked that ship anyway? And most unlikely of all, she just happens to be flipping through the tv and stumbles on surveillance of someone plotting her murder?
