Gorgeous tree, I think these are superb and I have been looking at one today here in Devon, England. I don't know if the one I saw had a mixture of male/female cones on it though so I reckon that's an excuse to go back and see it again lol

Planting a CIDP in that small space is a continuous maintenance nightmare. It would make more sense to go with one of the smaller Phoenix species

I suspect the primary supplier of Barton Grange GC is GCP (Garden Centre Plants), a wholesaler located about 10 mins from the garden centre. I know this because I also use GCP as a supplier to buy certain plants for the garden centre I manage. The white labels attached to the specimens are from the nursery, not the garden centre. I instruct my staff to rip them off as soon as the plants arrive as they tend to confuse customers :D I doubt they supply B&M but could be wrong, all of the specimens will be Italian imports anyway. But agree the markup is excessive, almost as bad as Bents.

Really enjoyed your tour. Great to see the good, the healthy and really interested to see the dead stuff also. You have great patience, I admire your dedication to giving palms time to recover. The butia that was mislabelled is a great find. Must be at least 7-8 years old in our northern climate minimum. The blue rimmed labelled plant is interesting, initially I wondered whether it could even be an armata but U think a chaemarops with the armoury. Thanks for the tour. Very interesting👍

Hi, great video. It's so good to have a walk around garden centres to see what they have because you never know what treasures they may have. You asked about the BBQ stand at the beginning of the video. My hubby purchased one 2years ago from B&Q. What he did was put treated slats of wood on the roof then felted over that. He then put trested slats around the front and sides, plus he put red cedar slats at the back where he put a metal bar to hang his BBQ utensils on. I must say it's really sturdy and going strong. 🪴🌴🌿🌱
