I'm sorry I know you've been a martial artist for a while but the two back Knuckles could actually stimulate more power cuz it's more straight and has more leverage
@BrandonTegosh19 күн бұрын
Oh and also if you punch too hard with your first two knuckles in my shift your wrist so it's always good to condition your two back Knuckles and your two front
@GKCgoju15 күн бұрын
Could youplease explain how the back knuckles (I assume you mean pinky, ring and middle) have more leverage?
@GKCgoju15 күн бұрын
@@BrandonTegosh Yes, I agree that one should not neglect any areas of the hand. I would say however, that striking with the front two knuckles aligns the wrist with the larger radius bone while the back knuckles the ulna (smaller bone). Structure is stronger with the front two. That being said, either one can be conditioned to be effective.
@BrandonTegosh14 күн бұрын
Yeah
@BrandonTegosh14 күн бұрын
The ring finger in the pinky finger could generate more power because it's more flat and it shifts les then the to big knuckels so with more serfis area it can generate more power

Are there any specific names or terms for these kicks?
@GKCgoju28 күн бұрын
The low side kick is often called ‘kansetsu Geri’ (joint kick) or naname gedan sokuto geri. The front kick with the bottom of the foot or heel can be called ‘kakato mae Geri’ (heel front kick), or sometimes ‘fumi komi geri’ (stomp thru kick).

Inspirational! For me Kobudo is at least important part of understanding ancient Te/Karate more deep, also without being involved in a big Kobudo Ryu Ha. Learning to handle some of the old weappons in addition to normal practice opens ways to understand bodymechanics the more, and also the selfdefense/combat meanings of real Karate. In case of emergency any tool, what comes to hand, may be of help for survive, even a nasty stone picked up from the ground. The more, as basic structures and tactics of Karatepractice are behind. So thanks for showing this!

Still trying to find any value at all in the chudan nikute for shisochin. Don't believe many (if any) could do anything more than damage their fingers trying to use that technique in combat.
@GKCgoju2 ай бұрын
Indeed, but that's not it's purpose.
@PKB2392 ай бұрын
@@GKCgoju apparently not, but what is it's purpose? It's hard to reconcile that after more than a decade of training anyone would need to ask what the purpose and application of those movements actually are? Even more bewildering that someone would train to do something for so long and not ask or wonder. The first 3 major moments of a kata, and theyre impractical and unusable for most people..... Tbh, it seems to just be smoke and mirrors is it so effective that nobody is allowed to know or does nobody actually know, hence everyone is coy about an answer?
@GKCgoju2 ай бұрын
Agreed. This has been the issue with karate kata for too long now. And is why we made it our business to change that paradigm and teach functional interpretations of the goju ryu kata (that translates to all okinawan styles actually) to our members, people who travel across the world to visit, or attend our in person or virtual seminars, and through our instructional videos. Like any techniques, the techniques of kata require training and practice to become effective - and some (all really - but some more than others) kata techniques require a skill set that must be developed outside of the kata template - hence, sanchin, hojo undo, tai tanren, kakie, etc.
