I had a base 957 when they came out; loved it. Had a 957 turbo and sold it when I couldn’t get cats for it and registration was coming up. Had my FAVORITE SUV OF ALL TIME: 957 turbo S. LOVED it. Then it got t-boned and totaled.

A one piece rear drive shaft is a good upgrade for any cayenne. That center bearing is gonna fail

Simply awesome video! Just subscribed :) My beloved 9PA.2 is a 3lt TD diesel. I also have two locked 80 series (wagon and ute) and a WK diesel Grand Cherokee. The off-road ability of the Cayenne is light years ahead of the (50mm lift and tyre'd) Jeep, no not an 80 (a truck) but these cars are the consummate Swiss army knife. Sensational on road, yet well above the pack off road. Aisin automatic, proper low range gearing amazing ground clearance, great fuel economy, super comfortable, quality leather and strong. Not a creak or groan when lofting wheels. Low range provides a very aggressive wheel slip algorithm. Simply a wonderful car.

I'm from New Zealand and just bought a 2009 (957) 3.0L TDI. It's a non air suspension model which is what I wanted. It has a GTS interior, sport design exterior and 20 inch Sport Techno Twist alloys.

Maybe that's just me but the Porsche 911 Carrera is overpriced and kinda lame. I would never buy a Porsche 911 that isn't faster then a stock B58 Toyota supra. With the supra, you get 382 horsepower and you have a very similar horsepower to weight ratio for a fair price. The 911 Carrera is just a status symbol car. People buy those mostly for the aesthetic. The Carrera is a car you buy for your gold digger wife when she asks you for a sports car but you don't want her to have a car that is overly powerful that could kill her or at best scare the guts out of her when she unintentionally presses the gas pedal too hard.

The RS... Ummm.... Units you're inner off those guys that needs that extra attention.. Beyond what a Touring or S/T..i don't see the point for a street car. Are you one of those guys into "riving up" a car FOR THE STREET?? Then maybe the RS is for you.... And what were we really paying for over a Carrera S? A 2025 Carrera GTS?? Why do people who clearly can't drive think that they can review cars? This scribbler missed every Alex, braked when there was no need and was always in such a low gear, that at the speed driven the car was unbalanced.

I don't think this was car a review. It was a superbly filmed and edited video which delivered on its intention to provide the viewer with a "Sersory Experience." It would also appear this was filmed on Australian public roads and the boys in blue (Police, Cops, The Fuzz) take a very dim view of anyone releasing footage of someone exceeding the speed limit.

Great vid- 3RS is a definitely a car that challenges drivers but the elephant in the room that Richard touched on is really cost. Many who are well heeled enough to track the 992 3RS 10 times a year with a trainer have worked out it is cheaper, safer, faster and therefore more entertaining to do the same thing in a 991 cup car on slicks. Unfortunately this leaves very few guys to track the 992 3RS 10 times a year and therefore it is indeed a car that is too much for their respective owners with the exception on a few rare individuals who have coin and genuine track talent. Some say that is a mistake by Porsche but 1. It is making them money; 2. It has lifted the brand; 3. It funnels the well heeled into Porsche Motorsport.

Very,very good video. I am taking my RS to the Nürburgring and Spa in September . I have done this with my three previous cars, 991RS, 997.1RS and 997.2RS. Clearly will have to think about how far to push and my instinct is to stay well with limits. I am not trying to find ou the limits of the car. The limit is the driver., and this car seems to be a lot different from its ancestors.

Thankfully the rear wing can also be a nice flat stable surface on which you can rest a hot coffee. Burning your fingers is never pleasant.

90 percent of us buy cars for bragging rights, we just don't have the ability to push the limit of the cars we own. Ultimately I think the majority of us would be just fine with a base model Carrera with a manual box and have as much if not more fun on a daily basis in a base car.

That is the brutal truth. There's a lot of ego massaging with the sale of sports cars and most of us are happy to go along with the fiction that buying one will transform us into a driving god.
