No lower lights were a feature of the 996/986 series. I still have mine and love the design. Happy it’s back again.

- Hybrid - No manual gearbox available - All digital display - No lower headlights - Start stop button Big changes for a facelift if you ask me. And did anybody really ask for the all digital display?

all digital display, much cleaner to me than the double split screen with tacho in the center of the previous gen. I had it in front of my eyes for the past 2 years everyday and never liked it. looking forward to rev limiter at 12 am

Nicely Done. Had seen spy photos of the new front fins, which helped solidify my decision to order a 992.1 The loss of the analog tac and 'key' start were unknown (to me), but even happier with mine in light of those changes

I have the 992 now and ordered the GTS. main downside of my 992 is the turbo lag. so noticeable. GTS fixing it and getting 160 more horses with the same fuel efficiency of the 911 I am driving as a daily at the moment. Button or switch, I honestly dont care. Analog Tach, not liking it on mine with the double split screens on the sides it looks, patched up kind of. Looking forward to the new beast, but of course to each one his ride as long as we are happy and keep pounding miles on 911s. lucky we are) can't wait to try to fully deplete the battery on our mountain roads out here

I have had a special session with my therapist to discuss the start button scandel. He displayed his usual empathy and then asked me to leave and never come again.

Big takeaways: 1 GTS now has the Turbo drivetrain apparently - given the new 3.6 has the same power as the old 3.0 - there is lots of room for more power. 2 No manual on the GTS - GT3 Touring will be even more in demand. 3 Battery is 1.9KWh - which means that maximum power is available for a continuous maximum of 4 minutes even with the MGU-H at full output 4 Hybrid adds 50Kg! Given the battery weighs under 30Kg that is a hopeless effort at weight saving - like carrying an extra passenger. 5 First road car with MGU-H means no turbo lag, single turbo for more efficiency and power, turbo becomes a secondary heat engine powering the car (11Kw). 6 Turbo S could have a huge single turbo, gonna sound like a Kenworth! (good!) 7 With no turbo lag, torque fill from the electric motor, electric whine, digital dash, electric suspension, GTS gonna feel closer to the Taycan to drive (not good!). 8 Base Carrera and S retain legacy engines for the third half-generation - that is a first for Porsche which has been tick-tocking since 996. 9 All the ICE engines now have big room for more power - base Carrera has GTS turbos and big intercooler - Mr Chippy here we come. 10 Don't forget to order the NCO rear seats - retrofit will be expensive!

In regards to #3, since the battery is small, surely it will recharge fairly quickly? So you'll get to use max performance more often than not. Also in one of the press interviews, one of the Porsche engineers said that the battery would last a full Nurburgring lap at max pace - most people won't fall into that category, so the battery issue might not be that noticeable.

@@DanielSadjadian yes it will only affect max speed runs. The max speed is available for four minutes. Not a practical issue.

I feel your pain mate No lower front bumper lights No analog tach No turning start No 2025 manual trans It’s a no go for me for now.

Well produced video and good points. My ugly reservation is the all digital day.. Will it washout in bright sunlight?? Will the dash be totally unreadable??

Awesome clip once again. Love the integration of the graphics and your specification. I am still a little old school so would be great to know Horsepower along with Kilowatts. Porsche must be the only company who can charge you for nothing when they can throw in 2 seats in the back for free. 😜

Thanks for the vid. Very optimistic about the GTS new tech. Even with this new hybrid tech, Porsche always know what’s needed to make the 911 great. Only thing I don’t like on the new GTS is the vertical front slats - the front of the base looks much better.

vertical slats look badass, I actually dig them. ordered 1 the morning after presentation. lets try it out. I ll do my best to deplete the battery on open roads )

Beautiful car design as always ,But and a huge But just means that with all this fancy extra electrical stuff just means your Porsche will probably spend more time in your service center than with you or in your garage.

not sure. they did 3.5 million kms testing. 911s are well known to be reliable. never heard of any sitting at the service center

Reliability has become a strong suit and will probably continue. Fear of mechanical costs is valid for Porsches over 20 years old or so but not on the new cars.

Agree that no one wants this. It is ridiculously complex and unnecessarily heavy. The whole point of hybrid technology is to reduce emissions which is achieved at the expense of extra weight. I would have been far more impressed with a standard ICE model with more power, greater efficiency, and less weight. Thank God for the Carrera.

I want this and ordered one the day it came out. I drive everyday the 992 carrera now, what annoys me the most is the turbo lag. Looking forward to the extra 160 HP with the same fuel efficiency. 3.6 sounds much better then 3.0. Eliminating the service belt and running AC on electric: Genius. I dont see it that complex, as well as that heavy being +50kg, when I am gonna wanna pound it I´ll run the tank with 30 lt in it and save the 50kg in fuel

The 992 just isn't a good looking car. As a 911 owner I'm starting to turn my attention to the 718 4.0 litre cars, and God forbid... Aston Martin. The new Vantage is soooo much better looking than a 992. (My opinion only of course).

I love Porsche cars, but those flaps are GROTESQUE and completely ruin the nose for me. As far as the interior is concerned, I also HATE the gear shift "knob", I much prefer the gear shift mechanism of the GT models, it's so much MORE Porsche like, this thing does NOT belong in a Porsche. And NO KEY HERESY! I'll stick with my '17 Cayman S MANUAL!

@@emanuelerubino8175 One thing is 4 sure you may have your opinion, but your sense of design is completely misplaced, Porsche is getting ripped for these blades and from it looks like they are going to be on the upcoming Boxster/Cayman, BAD move Porsche!!!
