Can I and my father complete a LPA for inheritance? For example, if he loses his mind (dementia) or passes away I to inherit fully the house, any savings in his bank account and all home contents? Or, should we create an Inheritance Will where the above is specifically stated?

Hi my brother had a cardiac arrest 8 weeks ago and although he is now recovering in hospital he has memory loss and confusion issues,his workplace has paid him in full whilst he was in the intensive care unit he is now receiving ssp only,he has a mortgage payment along with you on his car coming out of his bank monthly,myself and my elderly mother also reside at the property,he has unemployment cover on his mortgage but as he is not technically out of work until ssp ceases,I am trying to lot into his current account to check he has enough funds to cover the monthly outgoings but am having trouble accessing,he is in no mental state to help at the moment,am I required to inform his car financers,bank and mortgage lenders of the situation?.Any advice would be welcomed.

I would inform all parties regarding the situation, so that none issues late penalty charges if the funds in his bank account are insufficient.

The speed of speech is far too fast for people to understand and process what they are hearing. It would have been better with video as well to help prospective users understand, process and retain the information

If you go into the video's settings, you can select a slower playback speed: 0.75, 0.5 or 0.25.

You say the service only available for LPA registered after 1 July, but don't state what year. You need to update this podcast. Personally, I think it should be replaced with a video.

My family have had the misfortune of dealing with the OPG. Complete waste of time. About as useful as the parole are in keeping dangerous criminals in prison.

Good afternoon, in order to create an LPA, you do not need a solicitor. It can be done online with our step by step guidance. www.lastingpowerofattorney.service.gov.uk/home we do have further podcasts available on filling in your LPA and how to avoid common mistakes. If you have complicated finances or complex relationships you may want to talk to a solicitor but not compulsory. I hope this helps, Laura

You do not mention that anyone can obtain POA's fraudulently by signing Continuation Sheet 3 then take control of the donors bank account and steal the donors life savings. The OPG asks for absolutely no evidence of physical disability so severe that a donor cannot sign their signature or even make a mark. (England)

Can you fill out the PDF form on a computer but leave then signatures empty to be signed by pen when printed?

Hello, Yes you can fill out everything on the form online and then print it when you're ready to sign. These need to be done with a black pen. I hope this helps. Thanks, Laura
