Thank you, and that's a great question. All streaming platforms either compress the media that they stream, or have tech specs that require the media submitted to them for streaming to be compressed, and in some cases it's both. The effect that this has it to present the listener (or viewer, the big TV streaming platforms are no different) with something that "sounds like" the thing in question. There are production and mastering techniques that can mitigate this, but in short you get a thinner sound. If you were to put an mp3 on a nightclub sound sytem and then play a vinyl (or wav) of the same track, they would sound and feel very, very different. Our whole being is a receptor for frequencies and vibration. The purpose of what I'm doing on this channel is to provide sound healing for anyone with an internet connection, for free. The compromise is that certain frequencies that are on the master recordings cannot be translated accurately onto a stream, so I make sure that as far as possible I use frequencies or techniques that allow the maximum possibility for that translation. However, there is a difference, no doubt about it. I always have ads set to off during play for all content on the channel, however my settings are not always respected by the platform. I made a complaint about this some time ago, and the channel's reach was slashed by 65% in two days seemingly in response to that. So there you go.. And thank you!
