You can buy your tickets at every cable car entry and can get information about which pass suits best for you! There are even passes for multiple days and for the whole season!

Love your beautiful well info video. It's like watching a hiking movie! Thank You! May I ask it is possible to do the same in October? I knew my favourite refuge Du La Blanc (into the view) would be closed, is that any refuge next to it open in early October? or any advise I can spent a night there besides camp. I wish to witness the sunrise and sunset at Mont Blanc. Understood you both did not pre-booked the refuge in this adventure?
@Hikaholics4 күн бұрын
Thank you so much! That’s really sweet ❤️ we know people who have hiked the TMB during the winter months (November , December), but then there will be a lot of snow. You really have to be well equipped and experienced to hike this trail when there is a lot of snow. We hiked parts of the TMB in September and then there was no snow and the autumn colors where absolutely amazing! So yeah, keep a close eye on the trail conditions and decide for yourself if you are experienced enough for the conditions there are at that moment. Have you checked if refuge lac blanc has a winter room? Refuges leave a door open during the winter months for people to crash if they need a place to stay. Otherwise there is refuge de la flegere! Not sure if that one is open in October Ps: there are webcams around the mountains of chamonix for people to watch the trail conditions. For around lack of blanc you can watch the camera of flegere Pps: there is also a super helpful Facebook group for people who hike the TMB. Maybe you can find people there who will hike it in October as well and plan together?

Do you think the bag would take well an additional 100g of down overfill? Do you think the baffles could loft up quite a bit more? I just want a -10C bag, but their teneqa line is significantly heavier, and also too wide for me (im very thin), and also the colors on the panyam are just better. Also, would you say the 5mm zipper snags less than the 3mm one? I have the 3mm one on the X-lite and its sometimes an absolute ***** lol but at the same time, over the long run, I kind of don't mind it considering it saves about 40-50g compared to standard one. (i don't need full length either).
@Hikaholics4 күн бұрын
Hi there! These are great questions! I think you can best ask these questions to cumulus directly since we just bought the ‘standard’ bag. We did not alter anything to the bag. The cumulus team could probably help you way more specific However, in our opinion, these are our answers to your questions: There is a this section at the Cumulus website where you can customize your whole bag. And I see that you can fill your sleeping bag with extra down filling. So that’s totally possible. Our bag is super lofty, so I definitely think there can be more down filling stuffed in it. About the zipper: only when deen uses this sleeping bag the zipper snags haha 😂 when I (Alet) use the bag, I don’t have anyproblems with the zipper… so probably if you handle the bag with some care, you will be fine with the smaller upper. For the dimensions of the bag, you can customize the bags in every shape and form you want. That’s really awesome about cumulus. If we buy a new sleeping bag, we would change the foot box into a waterproof material.

I have some question about stage nine where are you started at Gite Du Moulin and ended the day at Lac Blanc. Do you have the stats for the day? How many kilometers, how many meters elevation gain and loss, and how many hours? On the map it looks like it is not the traditional TMB route but a variant. Do you not get the ladders if you go on the traditional route? Thanks so much for clarifying this for me!😅
@HikaholicsАй бұрын
It was a short hike (6km) to Lac Blanc with 1000m of evelation gain. It should take about 3hrs but it took us longer because we were shooting videos. The original route doesn't' t go to Lac Blanc but past the underlying lakes. The original route passes the ladders as well. There are a couple more ladders to reach Lac Blanc (variant). Hope this helps?

OK, thanks so much. I wish there were more lodging options further. Ideally, there would be something between La Flégère and Bellachat for a six hour (or so) hiking day… I think we will settle with La Flégère and have an easy 4 hour day. Thanks again

Thank you! It really depends on a lot. Sleeping in huts is more expensive than camping. Stocking up on groceries is cheaper than having lunch at all the huts. But I think around 1000 euros per person. Hope this helps a bit? Hope you are going to hike the TMB ❤

Is wild camping allowed ?
@Hikaholics2 ай бұрын
Wild camping along the TMB is a bit complicated. The trail passes through three countries and several local municipalities, each with their own specific rules and regulations. Generally speaking, wild camping may be allowed in France at high altitudes between sunset and sunrise, it may be permitted above 2,500 meters (from dusk until dawn) in Italy, and it is strictly forbidden in Switzerland. There are multiple designated camping spots along the trail

I noticed that with nearly all tour du Mont Blanc videos that there isn’t any mention as to how the accommodations were booked. I wanted to know if you would be willing share how you successfully booked all of the huts you stayed the night in. For example, if you used a booking service or if you booked separately and if so, how you had to secure your bookings and things we should know if we are trying to book?
@Hikaholics2 ай бұрын
Great question! This is purely an inspirational and informative video about the trail itself. We will be creating a ‘how to plan the TMB’-video soon to cover that topic. We did book all the huts ourselves and used this website for planning www.montourdumontblanc.com/uk/ We had to do a few cancelations due to late booking. And that did cost us a bit. The biggest tip is to start booking early!
