We have gone so astray. We need a leader! Donald is not the answer. Let us find a leader who cares for us not himself.

I was the oldest child in my family and was a bit too old to be in the target audience for Mr. Rogers. I hated it when my younger siblings demanded we watch Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. I was wrong about that. He was a great man. Kind, gentle, understanding, willing and always trying to help. It wasn't an act for his show. Oh, that I could live my life more like he lived. It would certainly bring me closer to the Christian ideal for God's children.

I'll never forget sending a letter to Fred Rogers thanking him for the lessons he helped instill in my children... and he wrote me back, thanking me for my feedback in a hand written note. there will never be another "Mr. Rogers"

I don't know what this guys angle was. It's very hard for me to see the forest through the trees when the trees are covered with lies and shit. But, if I allow my logical brain to rule it seems to me this guy had good intentions and was probably a good man. Saying that, I've seen a lot of very bad men who wear masks of good men. So, how does one navigate through the filth? It's tough. I guess all we can do is "Do as they say, not as they do." If we just take him and his message at face value, it was very true and a good example of how to live. Here's my two cents; be kind to others, until it's time not to.

Imagine if every person in the US who calls themselves a Christian simply went thru life acting like Mr. Rogers. In theory, they should be acting like Jesus but obviously in the US that bar is impossibly high for them...Fred Rogers offers them a more contemporary human in their time.

One sign that clearly shows that Mr. Rogers is the real thing was in his thanking the organizers for the gift. And by “the gift” he wasn’t talking about the award or the induction into the Hall of Fame, but for arranging to have Jeffrey there to be reunited. It shows where Fred’s priorities are - with people, not prizes or awards.

The one time the entire world would’ve understood and expected for him to talk about himself, even just a little bit…. But nope. He still managed to take that small window and make it about everyone BUT himself. So much can be learned from this man.

Mr. Rodgers was a beloved man for 3 1/2 generations of children. My mom, I, and my much younger siblings got to watch him on Channel 13 growing up. A true Christian who didn't preach to us and he could have since he was ordained. Instead he lived the life and showed it on and off camera.
