Glad you posted the video, bought in an auction, might make it a edc, at least in the bag.

I’ve had mine for a few weeks now and the detent is definitely heavy. Hoping it loosens over time.

The SOG Flash II is designed much better. Heres a tip. I normally use vaseline to lubricate knives. It also works great to hold things like that little ball in place during reassembly.

bought mine over a year ago as a souvenir to the USA. Been my EDC knife since then and it's still going strong. I carry it almost every day. Because I have a little daughter and she likes to take things out of my pocket, I find the safety very useful 😅. Only 2 problems I have is that I lost the screw holding the pivot pin in and the pocket clip damaged my steering wheel a bit because it scratched against it when stepping in the car. This last problem was solved by putting some shrink tube around it.

I have the older one and I wanted to open it and maintenance it how do I open it? If you don’t mind me asking and if I do take it apart, and I put it back together will it be as sturdy as it was before I tempered with

Thanks a lot! I just got one and thought weird it came with it stowed away and now is it locked in place forever? That can't be right...😆

I did knife surgery on my Redoubt the other day and my 551-S30V Griptilian this morning. Now both work perfectly. Couldn't get any smoother and zero blade play or lock rock. I feel good after having done both. Now I'm thinking of doing the same to my Mini-Grip. I think I should because that was the very first Benchmade I ever bought and I haven't taken it apart yet. Probably quite dirty inside.

This video is a waste of time. “Dave” doesn’t have a clue how to work on a knife which has excellent design and wonderful knife steel. I’ve used these knives for 15 years and love them.

Thanks man, this video really helped me to reassemble my knife. It's not the same model or brand, but it's the same concept. I was fixing my Maddox Tanto, and I couldn't figure out why my knife wasn't springing open after I reassembled it. Turns out, I didn't even realize that it had a spring in it and accidentally left it out when I put it back together. Your video really made reassembling my knife easier AND allowed me to realize that I was missing the spring. Thanks man. P.S - It really is easier to reassemble knives like these with an extra set of hands.

I got a used one for 4 bucks, this video helped a lot, terrible knife design, thanks a lot for the video, this is the knife one collects as a sample of a crappy design.

It was helpful to me. Theflipper quite working so I took it apart. It flew everywhere including into s pile of my kids Lego tool box where I pitched a list up that diesn't being and just the spring and one peice which I'm looking now. I allmost went ffffff ing mag trying to figure out why I couldn't put it together. Your the only video detailing it. So yeah. You saved a man's sanity today and I thank you for it brother. Ps your right, junk. Though I'll say the steel itself and to be of decent quality if they had went a bit further with it they may have had something ok. Peace

When I’m considering buying a knife, I always check KZbin for videos about the knife - especially disassembly videos. I like to see what makes them tick. Thank you, sir, for your excellent Finn Wolf video.

"Have to push it so far into a hole that big" lol that's what she said. But in all seriousness, I just bought a fake one online. It's a really nice knife. May not be the same quality as a Benchmade, but it works fine for me. 200 bucks for this thing is crazy!! However, it's a nice knife I just ain't paying that for something I'm gonna carry and use, but the design of this model is really nice. Small little dagger style blade automatic, wonderful. May only have one sharp side, but if you have to stick someone with it, it's not gonna matter.

Thank you so much!! I bought 4 of these for my groomsmen at my wedding. Mine was the only one with a carabiner that locked as soon as you opened it so we all thought it was broken. It's funny though, as soon as you said it locks, and I realized it was a feature, not a mechanical failure, I intuitively knew how to close it

@DaveLikesKnives Hey Dave, got a good one for you. I got a SOG Pentagon Elite 2 and after it was dissasembled seem to have lost a spring to keep tension on the lock mechanism. Can't find a video on it anywhere. If you can do a video on it you're the GOAT. Thanks

Please start using graphite lube in your knives fellas. It does not attract dirt, and will not rinse out with water. Only 100% alcohol.

I'm fairly certain the only time the spring is under tension is when you open or close the knife. During normal carry, there's no tension.

This is my go-to knife. it's tough, has the right heft and feel, blade is a little soft, Chinese steel, but that's ok. A little wet stone, and it sharpens easily. I lost it for years and found it on the bottom of my fishing kit, glad I found it.
@DaveLikesKnives7 ай бұрын
im glad you like yours. ive grown a small fondness for softer steels that are quick to sharpen enough to finish whatever job youre on.

I bought an Adventuridge multitool for about $9 a few years ago. I am pleased with it. The quality is surprisingly good for the price point. I'm saving it for my grandson. When he is older it will make a great first multitool.

youre a GREAT grandparent. I still have my first tool and it isnt much different from this one. Just having a basic set of pliers around that i could use on zipties served me for years. keep it up!
