Yeah look at the scanner and read the PID for cam crank variance from expected position. If the variance is greater than manufacturer specification change the timing chain/s.

FYI I did everything right but needed a mechanic to program it with his fancy programmer

Is there a normal amount that you would expect a battery to drain? I mean, if I leave my car sitting overnight it will drain slightly, but even after sitting and not running for an entire week in freezing cold temps it will still start without a problem. The car is not frequently used and I've been worried that it has a parasitic draw, but just not sure. I would think if it's still starting even after a full week, maybe there's not a problem and what I'm seeing with my battery tester is just normal readings. I am certain the alternator if functioning perfectly.

That's why when I take mine out. I'm not even gonna look at it. I'm just gonna replace it ...straight to the garbage bag I'll just get more upset if it is that.. If it was clogged. Could be bits of metal from anywhere in the engine ... Just replace the part. You could probably go another 80k If the car was running fine before.. eventually, every car will need a replacement motor.

This video just solved the issue I have on my 2017 VW CC. Mine is an automatic and I do have a lean condition without a code. As I drive to work about 1 hrs the readings get higher. My ABS kick in randomly when I'm breaking and I hit tiny bumps. Bumps that shouldn't trigger it. So I thank you a great deal for making this video. My brake booster will have to be changed.

I started doing the timing chain replacement. So focused on the job ahead of me and watching this helpful video. I finally realized that both sides on the main camshaft gear. The ears were broken off. The 3 point star that looks like a radiation ☢️ symbol. What can cause this ? Are the aftermarket replacements any good? Oe are $350 each thanks for any advice. Btw the car was running seemingly fine other than po016 etc

Thanks GoTech. But my engine's oil is perfect. And, the reservoir is still holding pressure. Car runs great | idle @ 550 | no smell | no exhaust steam. Checked front timing chain front and it is dry. Where do I check next?

Installed an aftermarket exhaust muffler. If There Is a leak at the output where rear pipe clamps to at the output would that throw a p0420 code??

My main issue with this video is he doesn't change all the guides or the phasers with the secondary chains. If you convince the customer to change it because you're already in there you should at least do the job right. This customer will be back eventually because of the phasers going bad or the secondary chains. Maybe cost came into play with the customer but the reality is that the cost couldn't be that much more to do this job completely right. Especially if you have any kind of warranty on your work. Also, many other videos even from parts manufacturers say the locking tool isn't necessary as long as you have the timing chain lined up prior to removal.

On Toyota if there is no feedback ( or somehow the ECM senses a bad coil) it will turn of the injector. I wasted a lot of time looking for a bad wire to the injector and considered replacing the ECM when i had a bad coil. I did not have a code for a bad coil. Next time i will probe the coil first. Thanks.

Hi I have toyota rav4 2015 xle code p0456 I took to 1 st mechanic he said that fuel assembly/trim ring/seal leaking need fuel pump replace he asj for $800 i took for 2nd opinion he said it a lot work over $1500 to fix and said fuel pump it's fine no pb with it I'm confuse plz help.

I had to get a gas can and filled it with gas and I was able to get gas in my tank with can .Pump would not let me but gas can went in quick and easy.👏
