No wonder her husband, Humphrey Bogart died so young, at the age of 57. He allegedly smoked 40 cigarettes a day. My father smoked about the same amount, but made it to 61. One year, when I was 19 I spent six months in the very cold Bering Sea on a research ship. I thought that perhaps if I had a cigarette in my hands, while topside, I could have some kind of warmth. I never smoked before, but I purchased a pack and when I was topside again, I opened the pack and took out a cigarette and started smoking. I didn't inhale, but I didn't like what I was doing so I threw the remaining pack of cigarettes in the ocean and never touched a cigarette again. Today, (Dec. 2024) I am 91 years old and haven't been sick for many years. If you are thinking about starting to smoke, or if you are already a smoker try very, very hard to do the same thing I did years ago and throw your pack away. Have a look at these statistics on smoking deaths . . . newsroom.heart.org/news/smokers-especially-those-who-begin-young-are-three-times-more-likely-to-die-prematurely Good luck on quitting. It will be the best present you ever gave to yourself.

Why was Gena a guest? She wasn’t asked any questions about her movie nothing. That idiot took up the whole show. I saved the episode to see Gena. What a waste of her time. Ugh

I wish I would’ve had a good relationship with my mother. Thankfully I had a good relationship with my grandmother. She lived with us up until I was 14. My mom left my dad and we moved out away from my grandma and dad. I was 23 when she died. She was the only person I had in my life that showed me love. I’m 58 and my mom is the same. She doesn’t have any maternal instincts at all. She never did. Our relationship was more like a rival sister.

First time I've seen this interview properly, though I've seen clips before. As awkward as she is, she isn't as cringeworthy as Ben Elton.
@awwwcrap195411 күн бұрын
Awkward or just herself? I like it when actors/actresses are their selves in interviews. It's what breaks them apart and a more likable uniqueness from the same ol' same ol.

Joan mispronounced both of Gena Rowlands’ names AND cut her off when she wanted to say WHY she wasn’t wearing perfume this particular day. Probably the most interesting point of this show.

Love Joan. She was still developing here. Too bad she pronounced both "Gena" (repeatedly) and "Cassavetes" wrong. Poor Gena is so classy and pretty much out of place here, despite being the best of sports.
@mckavitt134 ай бұрын
Not having seen your comment here, I wrote the same thing about the names. Twice should be thrice, as Joan never stops to ask & Gena is too kind not to correct her.
