You guys did an amazing job restoring that lovely old Ford PoP and even though it's a custom rebuild with the arches and the 2.8 under the bonnet it's a tasteful restoration, some of these have the engine/supercharger sticking 2 feet out of the bonnet and the rear jacked up with the wheels the same size as an artic😂 I think you should give this car to me as it's pretty much the same age as I am, my birthday is next week and I was born in 1960 and this car was first registered in October 1960😁must have been a good year for us both😎 can you tell me why these cars are taxed as this one has tax until next Feb plus some MOT their classics (which can be a good thing) even though they are exempt🤔cheers guys👍

As I said before this all takes me back but the amount of materials used is off the scale, with the small salvage cars the work was on later cars so often just a front end and out the door. Very nice to see but I could have never had one in the work shop for so long lol

@@Gavinpinkpaintshop I can see that! I caught up with a lad a few months ago after 20 years who rented my other workshop, got him off cellulose and on to 2k paint. I had a car breakers but the main work was salvage, he said he looked fwd to coming to work every day. It used to get a bit lively as I did some work with the recovery truck for the Sheriff so that opened his eyes lol He remined me of me checking his filler work while he was making the tea lol

Great video as always guys, you can see why these restorations cost what they do as the amount of prep work is crazy which is very labour intensive, people that complain about the cost should watch these videos then they would have an understanding of what's involved👌 The Escort is looking really nice in it's primer even that has a nice sheen to it👏👍
@Gavinpinkpaintshop2 ай бұрын
💯 John the hours Certainly, stack up quickly on this kind of work To be honest, some of the american car shows don't help this situation as they never show the paint process.They always just seem to get done in a couple of days 😂😂😂

That’s a beautiful finish but the seams between the guards and the centre section below the headlight scoops are supposed to be leaded on the S2 cars. Also the bonnet wiring is going to be very difficult to fit with the scoops already installed, but overall a great job. ❤

Amazing job as always guys, the attention to detail really shows in the completed job when the shell was outside on the pallets you could see just how straight and snooker table flat those panels are👌 I really don't know how you earn a living doing these classic restorations you must charge by the hour rather than a set price to complete the project as it takes hours and hours to repair and replace bodywork then all the prep before painting so how would you do an accurate quote🤯 Anyway the old Jag looks superb Gavin👏👍
