It would, but if you test it and it's over 12 volts then it's prob not the cause. 👊

That's definitely not a ground wire. That's +12V from the solenoid to the starter motor. This might end badly for some viewers.😬
@RickTheSpud7 күн бұрын
Why's that? You won't hurt anything with a voltmeter. The voltmeter was showing a draw on that wire and a new starter cured it.

I’ve been wondering about something for a while now and haven’t been able to find anything. Does anyone know if the transmission is the same in all GTs across all years. It seems to me that they all use the Getrag 7DCL750 which suffers from main shaft seal leaks and internal electronic failures. Some thing only the earlier AMG GTS has the issue, but I can find no evidence of revisions.

That wasn't a track day mate that was just a skid pan all the way round😎

😂 Yep, narrow road but he wanted his fair share! 🤷♂️ Agreed, looks and handles totally differently. Just gone from 16s to 15s and the ride is even better. Yeah now it corners flatter with more precision and confidence you can send it a bit more, but now the cheap tyres start to squeal a bit more now! 😜

Hi mate , just a quick question. My Ranger 3.0 Tdci 2009 has just developed a problem. I turn the key to crank or start position and hold it on for a ten to twenty seconds, then it responds. I’m get afraid of getting into a fuel station on a busy day because people yell at me for not moving off quick enough. What could be the problem, thanks buddy
@RickTheSpud9 күн бұрын
Maybe. Have you got a proper key or is it push button? If it's a key then investigate the barrel switch...
@mohammedsharif63939 күн бұрын
Excellent work but how to solve same issue for automatic transmission
@RickTheSpud9 күн бұрын
Thanks mate. Assuming there's some sort of linkage on the gearbox it should be the same. Your's jammed?
@BavariaR9 күн бұрын
Why the hell it need to be in manual mode for a launch and then still upshifting on it's own? What the heck!
@RickTheSpud9 күн бұрын
Yeah exactly. Then if you don't activate all the parameters you hit the limiter! And once you've done a launch you're left with traction off! IMO you should just leave it all alone, and when you double pedal it should know you're going to do a launch? Think Porsche does that.
@_SsnapsS_11 күн бұрын
If you want to teach others how to 'troubleshoot' a car. At least make sure you fully understand the component you working on. Fixing something but giving wrong information about how a starter works is a big no no. It could potentially damage components and/or harm people when they are misinformed.
@RickTheSpud11 күн бұрын
Regardless of the terms and language I didn't get 100% accurate, the way it was tested and diagnosed was on the money, and a new starter cured it. You won't damage ANYTHING by testing it with a voltmeter.
