Are the pins the same for all year 4runners ? I have a 2004 and before I try this I'm wanting to clarify that these are the correct pins for my year and motor with V6. Thank you

Just changed mine. I can see why they charge so much to change it at the dealership. My theory is that these OEM’s make these simple tasks so difficult so that people feel forced to get the dealerships to charge $50 to change it.

This is a great tutorial, but I have to confess I did not succeed in changing out the filter. The placement of the filter is way up towards the engine and I am too fat and my arms are too short for me to unhinge the white clip to get to the filter. You also have to practically lie down in the floorboard to reach everything. I did get the side cover off and on, but no luck in being able to get a good reach on the white clip to access the actual filter. Looks like I will be paying someone $80 to do it. I might have been able to do this had the filter housing been closer to the seat or if I was 40 pounds lighter and my arms two inches longer! Nissan did a terrible job with this, as there is barely any room to work even if you can reach the filter! All of my Hondas have their cabin filter inside the glove box and I can change those out in under 5 minutes. Oh, well. Thanks again for showing us how it is supposed to be done!

For some reason the bottom right (driver side) radiator mount bolt was 12mm instead of 13mm - what’s up with that Toyota??
@ImperatorCaesar222 ай бұрын
Wait… they’re all 12..?
@bullseyenate2312 ай бұрын
@@ImperatorCaesar22 it’s been some time since I’ve done one of these but if my memory serves me well the fan shroud cover bolts were 12mm and the actual bolts that hold the radiator mounted in place are 13mm. It could be that some models are all 12mm but this particular one was 13mm for all the radiator mounting bolts.
@ImperatorCaesar222 ай бұрын
@@bullseyenate231 Well the fan shroud bolts are 10mm but the radiator mount nuts were 13mm and the bolts were 12mm. But I didn’t notice the bolts were all 12mm until the last one, which was extra tight. All the rest I managed to loosen with a 13mm even though it was a size too large 🤷♂️. I was stumped on that 4th bolt though

@@sonicboom2905 yes technically you could if you could find one for this vehicle maybe in a junkyard. The thing to keep in mind is this seat is full of airbags and so you would need to make sure that you found one that had the airbags so that your airbag system worked properly.
