In Red Dead Redemption there is an abanonded mansion (that I think is used in part of the story) that people online used to say was haunted, although nothing paranormal is supposed to happen there. What does happen is that hostile gang members can spawn in the building - and on a playthrough, while exploring the mansion, the gang members spawn on me but there bodies were completely invisible, you could hear their dialogue, target, and kill them. But they had no bodies

I disagree with the notion that the Strange Man is God, or a vessel for the Devlopers to alter the story. Instead, I believe that the Strange Man is, in fact, Death itself. Firstly is how, while overlooking the future grave of John Marston, he claims that he speculating land for his job, as an accountant. Subtlety implying that his job is to count souls. As well, after John fails to sh0ot the Strange Man, he yells out "Damn you!", to which the man replies "Many have.". Death, as fearful as it is, is certainly dammed by those who were taken before their time. While these pieces of evidence help the case, my main point comes the comparison to another character from a rather interesting piece of media. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is an animated film produced by Dreamworks. The story is of an outlaw in a fantastical version of Mexico, the titular Puss in Boots, who is a magical cat, inspired by a fairy tale of the same name, who has the ability to walk and talk as a human would, and is also granted 9 separate lives. The movie begins with Puss losing his 8th life because of his inflated ego. After, at a bar, he is vistited by a bounty hunter, named Lobo. Puss challenges Lobo to a duel, and loses horrendously, unable to keep up with the inhuman skill of the hunter. Lobo cuts a deep scar into Puss's forehead, causing Puss to panic and run away. As Lobo follows Puss throughout the story, it is revealed that Lobo isn't a simple bounty hunter, but instead Death itself, insulted by Puss' belief that death holds no weight over him, Lobo is determined to either force Puss to overcome his ego, and value the sanctity of his life, or kill him before his time, and take his soul prematurely. Immediately, this bears significant resemblance to the Strange Man, as both are paranormal figures who appear before an outlaw who has lived a bad life, and both foretell of the outlaw's eventual death (Lobo by asking Puss to autograph the "Wanted Dead" portion of his own wanted poster, and SM by speculatingthe area that will be John's grave), and encourage (through dubious ways) the outlaw to improve themselves before their time has come. As well, both aggravate the outlaw into attacking them, only to reveal that they are both invincible. This similarity in behavior leads me to believe that Strange Man is some form of Death. A few more Ideas about the Man I had are: -The Strange Man could be a reference to the G-Man from the Half Life series, as both are paranormal figures who appear as men in suits in order to guide the protagonist on their journey. -The Strange Man might be less an avatar of death, and more an avatar of overall entropy, given the nature of his quests, and how he does not care WHAT happens to the people, only that SOMETHING happens
