Hi, this looks amazing. Can i ask was the roof a trussed roof and if so how did you safely remove the trusses without causing structural issues?
@newbuildtohome18 күн бұрын
There were no trusses as that part of the roof was flat.

You are supposed to squat and bench inside the squat rack (that's how your safety pins can actually save you)... just ditch the treadmill and move the squat rack away from the fridge! Otherwise, good job!

How have you found the wall panel has held up on the radiator wall? I want to put panelling behind my radiator to hide bad plasterwork but worried the heat will warp it or it's not safe to have them behind radiators. Never seen these put behind radiators before

It has been absolutely fine, no warping at all.

What are the dimensions of this garage and how much did the build cost?
@newbuildtohome3 ай бұрын
The garage is 6metres by 3 metres and the materials cost around £2000 but I did all the work myself so there was no labour costs

Look great but I'd love to know how hot it gets on the 2nd level. No roof means no insulation so the temperature in the room would not be comfortable without air con on constantly.
@newbuildtohome3 ай бұрын
We moved the insulation up to the roof but you are right, it does get hot up there in the summer but no more than any other new build house.

Hi. This is amazing, Im looking to do this in my daughters room, can I ask to make the hole in the ceiling to access the loft/mezzanine did you need to strengthen/reinforce the loft floor? Any advice would be amazing, id like to use that space for a library/office.
@newbuildtohome5 ай бұрын
We didn’t strengthen the floor as we weren’t adding any real weight but it would probably be advisable for a library with lots of heavy books

Stunning job!! We have a massive loft but in a 1930’s house. My diy skills are currently limited to using a mitre saw and putting shelves/panelling up (my husbands are even less). We’re renovating so learning as we go. Totally inspired by this bedroom transformation 🤩
