The gun that sleeps with me in my bed right where the wife used to sleep rest in peace honey is it Ruger SR 45 one thing I like about it is the flag that sticks up because even in total darkness I can run my thumb across that and have the assurance that she’s ready to protect me. my conceal carry gun is the LC 9S and I agree with everything this guy says it’s a great gun and the trigger pull is very nice And fits very nicely in my front hip pocket with very little printing.

Thanks for the great video. Most of the so-called experts will tell you that open carry is not a good idea, and their list of reasons goes on and on. They are entitled to their opinion. Opinions are like belly buttons. Everybody has one. I grew up in a high crime area and I knew all of the bad people, the smart ones and the stupid ones. None of them wanted to get shot. I've traveled armed for more than 50 years, openly since 1985 and I will never know how many times trouble has taken a detour rather than confront an old man with a gun. I am 87 years old and I know from personal experience what can happen to old people when they're perceived as an easy target. The gun on my side is my personal sign that says beware, this old dog still bites. Unarmed people are a much safer target. Recently, local law enforcement, being uninformed about the state statute that allows open carry with the proper permit, chose to challenge the validity of my decision. They firmly believed that open carry was against the law in the state of Rhode Island. I was threatened with arrest and possible jail time. Eventually the city solicitor was able to convince the Police Department that what I was doing was perfectly legal and that their opinion about my reason didn't matter. On the plus side, this was the first time since I started carrying openly 38 years ago that law enforcement even noticed me. Rhode Island has a population of over 1.094 million and only 3500 people were issued a permit to carry. That's less than half of 1%. Many people with permits don't know that they are allowed to open carry or are afraid of reprisal from the Police if they do. I have never seen another Rhode Islander open carrying. This, in my opinion, is a classic example of, “use it or lose it.” I will no longer argue the point. My reasons are justifiable and personal, and I no longer choose to share them or argue the validity of my actions. My reasons are none of your business. The only pertinent question is, “is it legal?” When asked “What are you afraid of?” My reply has always been, - Nothing.

Did i just hear you say that 9mm+p+ equals 10mm!?? Not even in the ball park of 10mm
@CitizenCarryАй бұрын
@@southernarsenal908 No sir, you didn’t. At the 48 mark I said that some said that 9mm + p+ approaches the *40 smith and Wesson*, but eluded to that quote would most likely not be the case. Later, I said that the 124 gr. 9 mm plus p plus approaches the power of 40 Smith & Wesson and even gets a little bit closer to 10 mm. I did not say it equals 10 mm. I also went into the factors and differences in powder loads and other ballistic elements…But to be sure: no, I have not seen that any 9mm load has ever approached the energy of the 10. (or I would be carrying it!)

@@CitizenCarry so now lets compare 45 acp +p+ to that 40 cal and see if even the magical 40 can still be superior to the old war horse 45. I mean if were keeping it fair . @@southernarsenal908 45 +p+ would be awesome! And to tell the truth, I don’t think I’ve ever owned 45+ P plus, nor even 9 mm +p+ come to think of it. I may have had 9…but def not 45. I would imagine you’d have to check the manufacturers literature to see if the gun is rated for plus P plus or whatever. I’m guessing that 45 +p+ would smoke the 40. It's sad that you even have to want people that watching a video on guns is harmless. Is it what's in the food these days? Or perhaps the level of flouride in the water? Or the low attention span under 3 minutes long on average these days? 🙄😌😩 Man serious.... I was raised on guns. I was allowed to go out an empty a whole box of ammo without supervision at the age of eight, because I was taught how to be safe with guns. Do guns kill people? Not really... It's the people holding the guns.

I also can't afford to put 1000 rounds through my handguns prior to carrying on a regular (EDC) basis. What I ALWAYS do and will continue to do is to buy two boxes of carry ammunition and run it through first. Then, if there were no FTF's or FTE's, I'll then run about 150 to 200 rounds of FMJ through it. I've been doing this for over 50 years (I'm in my 70's) and that particular practice has always served me well.
@CitizenCarry2 ай бұрын
Yes. I think your way is sufficient to justify your carries. Absolutely reasonable. Plus, I think most of those fellas that say they’ll put through 1,000 rounds before they carry it are lying. That’s anywhere between $350 - $550 before they’ll carry it. My best guess is that they do (maybe) 4 or 5 boxes.

"it is impossible to be shot through a video. fear not." lol love it although I might take issue with your description of the trigger pull. You've owned a 1911 but you call this a crisp trigger? :)
@CitizenCarry2 ай бұрын
LOL! Well… I will go ahead and put this in perspective of polymer guns and not 1911s. To be clear, not many pistols can beat the trigger of a 1911. But for polymer pistols, Glocks have routinely had very crisp audible triggers. There’s no mistaking when (both) the trigger is pulled and the trigger is reset. But I always made sure (in several of my videos) that I clarified that no one is going to be listening for a reset or measuring the quality of the trigger pull while they’re in a defensive situation. I definitely appreciate you watching!

Chris you could have title this vid 2 worst options for gun belts. As they appear they are floppy fashion belts that made to hold up pants.
@CitizenCarry2 ай бұрын
I definitely can see why you’d say that…. But these were 2 heavily advertised, low priced belts, both of which I still use routinely to this day. “Best “ and “worst” are both highly subjective terms, and can easily be applied to any belt for a variety of different reasons. For example, the groove life belt is absolutely ideal for me for inside the waistband carry of my five shot revolver, or my single stack 9 mm pistols. It flexes with my movement. But if I am going to carry a larger gun, I would not use the groove life belt. I would use the mission belt, which is highly adaptable and very adjustable, and not floppy in the least. And I definitely know that there are much better belts out there for a variety of different purposes (and higher costs). I don’t doubt that whatsoever! I was not reviewing other belts though. I was reviewing the groove life belt, and the mission belt in this video. The viewer can (then) make up their own minds, and of course, choose differently! I appreciate you watching!
