Doesn't work in 5.4, but I have exact reverse problem. The hair disappears the CLOSER the Cinecamera actor gets to the Metahuman.

I'd not call this a tutorial but rather a showcase of how it works. As someone trying to follow along, the fact that you don't actually show yourself doing anything but just magically have it already made up and explain it post is extremely frustrating. Why, because I, the supposed tutorial watcher, am getting a process that looks entirely different than yours, just highlighting a few things & explaining.

Hi James, dropping in from the Discord Server. Another quick tip, with size of objects you can scale up the studio as well, also if you say want to keep the light setup or any of the other objects in the level under the atlux ui you can simply uncheck the items you dont want changing for example changing sthe studio preset. With reference to the saved feature, whats actually cool is the preset you save is actually stored at the project level by default but you can also save them globally in the actual >Plugins>Marketplace>Atlux folder so you can have those custom presets available for any project. Great video

I don't konw why but I can't display only a canvas without a camera, it's says to me "no cameras rendering", and when I activate the camera I can see mi canvas on the game view, mi canvas is on Screen Space - Overlay

Very impressive man. Well done. How did you get past hair grooms and moving light issues? I end up just using bald males because of hair grooms disappearing when a moving light beam passes close by. Something to do with transparency and hair grooms that I haven’t been able to solve yet.

I'll have to do a tutorial on this, but in the lod sync component you have to set it to 0 instead of -1.

i cant overlay my layers. Whenever i create a layer, every other layer disapears and i can only see what is on that layer. Even with all layers toogled on "Visible"

HI James, Is there any way to hook up an EOS console to Unreal and run that way? New to Unreal but experience doing previz in Capture and other softwares. Would love to run these Unreal Engine shows via nomad or my physical console.

Yes that's absolutely possible. I mention it briefly but don't go into how you would do it. You might want to check out Carbon for Unreal if that is what you want to do, but you can also make it in Unreal with a lot of hard work! One day I'll make some tutorials on how to do that if that's something people keep asking for.

Thanks again for an amazing series on the Unreal Engine 5 DMX (programming) Library, and dare I say Unreal Engine 5 Blueprints 101 for Stagehands & Motion Picture Technicians? One thing to note, I don't think you ever caught your "off by one" error through out the series. You made the sliders go from 0-254, presumably thinking "DMX only goes up to 255, so there are only 255 values." When in fact there are 256 values in a byte, DMX ranges from 0-255, 0 being the 1st, 255 being the 256th. So the sliders should also be 0-255 to give full range. (And if I missed that correction, my apologies.)

You are absolutely right and well done for spotting my deliberate mistake!! My colleague hates that I kept getting that wrong but when you are recording and teaching it's easy to lose your way and make mistakes like that! Hope it wasn't too distracting and the rest was still useful to you.

6:50 lawl, Game Developers and Computer Programmers in general work with starting on 0. In fact I presume the ArtNet standard starts with Universe 0 because of a Computer Programmer not being a Entertainment Lighting Person and/or ArtNet originally being intended just for Architectural Lighting. Whereas sACN starts on 1 because it was developed by ESTA for Entertainment Lighting People. Oh, or am I misunderstanding what you were trying to say there? Are you saying I can't make the local universe start at 0, even if I actually wanted to? That would be silly. And since I'm bothering to comment, thank you for this series. I'm not at all trying to build a control console in Unreal, but this has been the absolute best resource for DMX in Unreal 5. I've learned more watching this than from anywhere else.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm trying to say that Artnet always starts at 0 and ACN always starts at 1 but in Unreal you could change it either way by offsetting it when you configure it. Downside to that is it confuses everyone!!

Hi, thanks for the tutorial video, i followed the steps but turned out i can have the correct body motion but the root motion is missing, no matter how far my actor moves the target character just stays at the original position. Any suggestions on how to get root motion from the real-time animation source data?

Have you tried different places for the root motion to start from? It may be that your root motion in your source animation has an unusual root position

@@jamessimpson3d I have got the solution, my rig's hips bone is at the (0,0,0), i need to give it an offset while import it in UE5, makes sure the feet is on the floor not the hips

i've never been able to grid place fixtures, but i just select and distribute between points, THAT works on the grid, select the same grid point and boom!
