The last time Typhoon Soula hit Hong Kong, I was expecting to see what the 200MPH wind force would be like. However, the closer I got to Hong Kong, the intensity weakened rapidly. In the end, I was disappointed that I couldn't see it. 😢

Wowza, Samuel, you took us on a ride! I live near downtown Houston and got all of the storm’s blast from the cozy ambiance of being inside my townhouse! What a rush to see the storm from the perspective you provided us.

This was a classic cat 1 hurricane. If you think this was a cat 2 and they're wrong, then your idea of a cat 1 was simply too weak. I hate how many people think this was cat 2 when there's no evidence to support that.

That blowout tide or a reverse storm surge ( when that water receded so much) means a hurricane is definitely on its way but I'm sure y'all know that by now lol

Gracias y, bendiciones 🙏.

Good video, like the extra run time -- but if that was a CAT4, then Hurricane Charley, that hit the same area, was a CAT5. Much much smaller and faster moving storm, that thing was like a huge tornado. This to me, looked more like a CAT3 storm, but we know the NHC loves to inflate everything now so they can scream about how everything is constantly getting worse, and they need more money because of it. BUT, again, great job with the video.
@HurricaneXplorer

Thank you for your comment. I do agree with you about the inflation of wind data lately though I do believe IAN was a true cat 4, unfortunately I played a little safe and stayed a little to inland for the first half of the Hurricane.

@@HurricaneXplorer I thought the video was great - this is the best I saw from this hurricane. That is interesting to hear you say it was a legit CAT4 - on video, from what I've seen from other storms, in particular Charley, this just didn't seem to be quite as intense, although with Charley it was moving quickly, and that adds to the intensity for sure. Thanks for posting the long form version of this - it's remarkable how long things kept up there - and remarkable more damage wasn't done, but having Charley destroy a bunch of things in that area, and modern building codes, seems to really make a huge difference. Being born and raised in FL, the one place that will see horrific damage is the Tampa Bay region, in particularly Pinellas County. No hurricane has hit here in over 100-years, and I'd guess the majority of structures were built pre-2000, when/if something finally hits, it's going to be very bad.
