In 2024 my heart is breaking missing my granny who raised me in this music and I never got over her passing. I was born in 93 and she in 49 and I’m so empty its literally the saddest show to my family who expects me to be over it but there a hole that’s never gonna be filled and it’s so sad I hurt like this. I’m glad there music to make me feel her presence still . I love you Winona I hope I make you happy and proud in heaven until we meet again 😢 I can’t wait to walk around in heaven with you granny please hold me dear and hold me close keep me grounded and well round to fight the demons that change everyday as I breath. My dad lived in Virginia in the the late 80s I was born in the late 90s ,I been born and raised in San Antonio my whole life .he told me story’s about his freind Donny and his brothers who’s sang this song . He told me story’s when he lived in the mountains and his best friends for life , he left in 96 when my older sister was born and never went back. But him and my mom always told me the story’s . Now my dad is the hospital sadly at the end of his rope he has congested heart failure,heart at 10% kidney failure and liver failure. Unfortunately he likely wont make it but the only thing that makes me feel ok is when he was able to talk he told me he wasn’t afraid. Since he been in his comatose state he mages to mumble a name or a word . Like his father who passed when he was 10 or his sister who passed 15 years ago . My mom played this song for him today and he try his hardest to get up and sing it . Broke my heart to see my dad like that. My mom tells him Eddie go with Donny he’s waiting for you . I just hope my dad get to heaven walks around and sees all his friends and family
