I noticed you are using an L-bracket with your setup. Is this necessary or is the ballhead function able to tilt all the way over (for portrait mode)?
@seawildearthАй бұрын
The ballhead can tilt but I just find it quicker, and simpler to use the L-Bracket. Cheers.
@russellbaston974Ай бұрын
Yes, MUCH quicker with an L bracket and more stable as the weight stays in the same plane and doesn’t go to one side.

I see someone has said below that the DJI ND filters do stack to the wide angle. That has to be deliberate by DJI. Poor.
@Photoking26Ай бұрын
I have just got the DJI wide angle and my Neewer ND filters. The magnets seem to oppose so cannot fit them. They work fine with the camera only. God knows why. I suspect it’s the same with DJI ND filters.
@whatsnottohikeАй бұрын
I wonder if the only way round this is to just have the wide angle lense on and then just set exposure while recording? (While recording, swipe from the right and adjust exposure)

does this G4 head need a leveling base to function correctly? I shoot a lot on uneven grounds a have no leveling base.

Towards the end of trials I went with standard 4k 120 settings, non log settings, and it looks good enough for what I'm doing. Log is a great addition for those with the time and software to drill down into the post processing but I think many folks are ill equipped to deal with log, nor do they have the real understanding of the color grading science. Hence the frustration I've heard many people react to when trying log for the first time.

My issue is that the lens got stuck inside the gimbal when i turned off the camera and it then overheated the motor and wouldn’t open. Stupid design

The water temperatures will start dropping here soon as the seasonal change occurs. Waters will become cooler and a little rougher. That will be a good thing. I'm sure some may be resilient enough to survive but I'm sad to say that I also think a lot, already are, beyond hope. Sad to see. We need strong storms at least twice per typhoon season as the water here gets incredibly warm at times.

I dont remember them being that white just a few years ago :/ There's a guy who invented a new way to breed coral that's become pretty much the only way to restore reefs. Any idea if any such project is being considered for Okinawa?

I am confident this came up at the design table, but the response probably was something along the lines of 'Yeah we are not THAT MUCH of a filmmaking tool' which I suppose is fair since I assume their target audience that even follows this 180-degree shutter rule hardly knows why at all. Regardless, I do know and I recently had a setup going with some electrical tape. The Pocket 2 had a filter by Freewell that could be stacked within the wide angle/anamorphic lens and I am looking forward for a brand releasing something similar to that.
@motorcycle-man4 ай бұрын
Oh would you look at that. I looked into it, Freewell already released that. Product code FW-OP3-CLWND. This allows a wide angle lens to be stacked with a their ND. Specifically their ND, to add to that.
@foxhound344 ай бұрын
If you think about it this makes sense that they don't work together. If the camera magnet is (+) then any attachment would need to (-) The only way around having multiple attachments would to be to have the outside of the wide angle lens or ND filter to have (+) or an additional attachment that was (+)/(+). It does suck though.
@seawildearth4 ай бұрын
Yep, I goes against the grain of basic cinematography. I guess they don't want this lens to be a part of any project that demands the 180 degree shutter rule be implemented.

Just a simple question, apart from Lense problem, which one would you advise to buy? Dji go pro 3 or 4 Or dgi osmo 3 or osmo 4?. Can you use dgi osmo for any shots like moving cars, ects or just for walking and taking movies, I am little confused since I hear this kind of stories, I am thinking about buying g DGI OSMO, 3 OR 4. Which should go for, NOT vloging, vloging or u tubing just yet, hope to hear from you useful answer ❤❤.

Perhaps you need filters dedicated to the wide angle lens? I've read that filter stacking is also impossible. Hopefully you get it sorted.
@seawildearth5 ай бұрын
But it doesn't make any sense to have filters that only work with one lens. Defeats the object of efficient workflows.

@@seawildearth I agree, and DJI should have a list of compatible filters IMO. Unfortunately there isn't much online about the issue either.
