e46 arms are used to give more angle. If you need the angle, then this is one of the cheapest ways to achieve that.

Not bad for the engine. They are a wear item so I don’t know if after 250k miles it still worked. So I deleted it and all the necessary hoses I capped or put a breather. Also I had to plug the little valve back in and tucked it under the fuse box out of the way.

Nice you answered a question I been asking myself for a while. Wanting to this on my 95m3 obd1 car that has the same plumbing as your e36 and I wasn’t sure if the purge valve would throw a check engine light. I read the comment here you said no check engine light came on which answers my question I been having since I want to put my oil catch can in the same location too since the bracket for it is already there!! One more question dude. Did it create any gas vapor smells coming into the cabin of the car ? I just don’t want it to smell like shit since my car is California smog compliant(very rare thing) lol so I just don’t want it to smell like I have cats removed or something of that sort?
@hackedfab80902 жыл бұрын
So I don’t smell anything on the exterior of the car. But in the car I smelled gas before I deleted the canister because I run no cats. But the smell is the same, no change, so I don’t think there will be a smell of you still run cats.
@Euroboyz Жыл бұрын
@@hackedfab8090hey man, a year later has the check engine light came on at all for it? Needing to do this asap thanks
@lucasgauthreaux5993 Жыл бұрын
@@Euroboyz had a light when I first started because the valve was completely unplugged and the computers it as an open circuit. Plugging it back in and putting it under the brake booster made it clear. Either plugging the valve in or using a small resistor across the ports of the harness plug will prevent the light.

No codes. There is no sensor in the tank or anything for obd1 vehicles so the DME has no idea if the charcoal canister or purge valve are even doing their job.

my e36 fan exploded and i'm debating leaving the fan off and replacing everything else as you did in this video did you happen to run into any cooling issues since?
@hackedfab80903 жыл бұрын
Biggest cooling issue was just bleeding the system after. Which is a pain in the ass in itself regardless of efan or clutch fan. Summer is coming so if I do run into issues my plan is to remove the existing aux fan and run a two stage puller fan fan and just use the existing aux fan wiring and relay system to power it as opposed I wiring a stand alone set up as I see others doing.
