Step By Step showing how to delete the charcoal canister to make room in the engine bay. Note this is for OBD1 systems with the can in the engine bay under the MAF, not for the OBD2 systems in the trunk.

I feel like bypass the charcoal canister to the purge valve makes my truck run better.. it keep wanting to die when I would start going but since I took it off and unplugged tubes from purge valve it hasn't been acting like it will die and lose power

Thank you. Yea they didn’t show anything and what hoses come/go where. I didn’t even know about the lower hose that runs to nothing until I dug into it.

Confused with e36 fuel line/diagram from main tank to engine and fuel filter, can you made a video with your e36 please?
@hackedfab80902 жыл бұрын
Hell yea it’s confusing. Working on that video for the fuel filter now. Was going to do just the lines under the car to the engine. Need from tank too? It’s just a return and feed (I’m almost certain)

Nice you answered a question I been asking myself for a while. Wanting to this on my 95m3 obd1 car that has the same plumbing as your e36 and I wasn’t sure if the purge valve would throw a check engine light. I read the comment here you said no check engine light came on which answers my question I been having since I want to put my oil catch can in the same location too since the bracket for it is already there!! One more question dude. Did it create any gas vapor smells coming into the cabin of the car ? I just don’t want it to smell like shit since my car is California smog compliant(very rare thing) lol so I just don’t want it to smell like I have cats removed or something of that sort?
@hackedfab80902 жыл бұрын
So I don’t smell anything on the exterior of the car. But in the car I smelled gas before I deleted the canister because I run no cats. But the smell is the same, no change, so I don’t think there will be a smell of you still run cats.

@@hackedfab8090hey man, a year later has the check engine light came on at all for it? Needing to do this asap thanks
@lucasgauthreaux5993 Жыл бұрын
@@Euroboyz had a light when I first started because the valve was completely unplugged and the computers it as an open circuit. Plugging it back in and putting it under the brake booster made it clear. Either plugging the valve in or using a small resistor across the ports of the harness plug will prevent the light.

@@lucasgauthreaux5993 sweet! I appreciate that man, I definitely would’ve tossed it out.

Did you notice fuel smell more?

hello thank you for sharing this, is this bad for the engine or you just deleted it for more space? if it's bad for engine I'll definitely delete it
@hackedfab80902 жыл бұрын
Not bad for the engine. They are a wear item so I don’t know if after 250k miles it still worked. So I deleted it and all the necessary hoses I capped or put a breather. Also I had to plug the little valve back in and tucked it under the fuse box out of the way.

@@hackedfab8090 thank you for your reply, then I'll keep it the way it is :D

After deleting it did it throw a code ?
@hackedfab80902 жыл бұрын
No codes. There is no sensor in the tank or anything for obd1 vehicles so the DME has no idea if the charcoal canister or purge valve are even doing their job.
@wandameadows5736 Жыл бұрын
@Jr - since it doesnt throw a code for a bad canister I wouldnt think it would it you just removed it.
