For a second, I thought you were going to say …so we’re pulling out the Big Block to drop in a 318 then we’re getting another quote. Good luck man. I’m sure it’ll come back bitchin. BTW, you going to Duct Tape this year? Sounds like you’ll be out of town for a bit.

Been looking for a 67, 68 or 70 mercury cougar for my first project car. I just want something mean looking, but comfortable and fun to ride around in. Luckily there's a lot of cross over with 60s mustang parts that will work in the cougar, but the downside is that body panels for the cougar are way more expensive, as you described. If i ever find a rusty cougar roller, i already have a salvage title 99 mustang to steal the T5 transmission out of lol

Lol, this is ironic. After my old man passed away I got his 62 Power Wagon and his motorhome with a 413 in it. I tried to talk him into putting the 413 in the power wagon for years before he died. With a million projects of my own I ended up getting rid of the motorhome. But every once in awhile I still fantasize about how it would have been if I put that motor in there. Thanks for letting me live a little vicariously through you

The truck certainly was, and is, fun. Unfortunately, this truck had a level of "unsafe" that I learned when tearing it down. I used this truck and another together to make the current one. This one had a steering box that had horrible steering and would make me lose control at higher speeds, and the cab mounting points were completely rotted out, making it held together only by the front core support bolts.

What gauge cluster do you have brother?
@HighRevNation
@HighRevNation Ай бұрын
I ended up making the gauge cluster itself, at least the bezel. The gauges were each bought from Autometer, which were customized through them at a slight increase of price.

Sorry for the delay! I ended up buying some generic ebay UCA's, that fit with the airbags. I don't know if it's a "standard" size, however, I didn't order anything that didnt "claim" to be stock. With ebay though, you never really know.

Having been to the first couple Duct tape drags I had the same experience as you, that it’s not the event to go to if you just want to make passes. Large crowds and lots of broken cars means you are mostly waiting in line. When I went the 3rd year I just took my car and parked in the pits and just enjoyed walking around and experiencing everything without even trying to race. Keep is just to have fun and there are plenty of other test and tune nights at the track to make runs.

Sure, I had picked them up from www.exlinecustomauto.com/ Fitment was well, I blame my cutting more for any misalignment that occurred. I know they have a backorder time, so I had ordered these about 3 months prior to tackling this!

welderseries.company.site/ This is one example of where you can find some. Really though, a lot of it is just modified to fit what you are needing. Many universal 4x4 parts or bag mounts could work just as well.

Truck looks killer man. Absolutely love it. Almost stopped by several times but I was usually on the move to get somewhere. I did leave a pamphlet on your truck about all the great reasons why you should move to California. Hope you got it. Lol. Bummer you can’t make it next year. BTW, best thing I did this year over previous DTD’s was bringing a bicycle. Definitely can get around way faster and easier that way. I was the Sassy Grass Green 74 Duster, I think I was one row over from you. That Yellow Charger you raced was Paul, a friend of a friend in our group. Was trying to get my 68 Charger to DTD but had catastrophic failure about 2 weeks prior, that really sucked. So I brought the Duster as back up. Anyway, enjoyed the video. See you DTD 2025.
