Would it make sense to then bleed the lifters some before installing them to be able to get the preload correct? If you soak them in oil and they're super stiff, couldn't that affect the pre loading process?

A dot does nothing vs a witness line from the top of the bolt down to the pan itself. Also you didn’t RTV the corners of the rear plate so that will leak. Also didn’t check pickup clearance

You should drive one with an LS swap, makes the car pure joy, the handling is already there with just slight upgrades, but the added power? Amazing, and a lot lighter than all Camaro's before. Great choice, if I may, the Dakota Digital are great however, be careful to get preferably a white background with black numbers, black background is just too hard to see when driving.

I’m having trouble finding the correct style timing kit for my 07 new body Silverado with an aluminum 5.3. I’m swapping the timing kit since I did a tsp cam swap. The cam gear that’s coming off has the 4 sensor spots on it 2 long ones and 2 short ones not the 1 long one like in the video. I’m having trouble finding the correct kit anywhere.

Yours may have the afm, in which case the cam will have a single cam bolt in the center vs the three you may need to get a complete kit to remove the afm system hope that helps

What I always did, put a piece of paper or paper towel in that cylinder one spark plug hole and as you rotate the crank you’ll know that #1 piston is on the rise if the paper shoots out then from there just turn it until that marking is facing the top! (Assuming that you still have the heads on)

I am installing a 2.9 Whipple supercharger on my 2013 camaro with a stock crank that has no keyway slot. I have an ATI balancer and ATI crank pinning tool that I want to install. My question is, do I have to drill the hole in the crankshaft for the pin in any particular place concerning the circumference of the crankshaft?

An aftermarket adapter can change the oil filter cartridges to spin ons. The oil needs to have SN/SM designation for zinc. Modern oils and engines. may be without that need or designation. I use STP oil treatment in my old cars. It is liaded with zinc.

Old-school in 60 at the Shell station we were taught to lightly lube the hoses as we slipped them on. Otherwise when you need to replace them the come off easily. Prevents rust, too.
