I definitely subscribe to Lelo's world view and mindset. Her opinions are well thought out and very well articulated. She basically doesn't like a philosophical/theoretical approach to life, but prefers practical solutions that often require one to take serious accountability of ones own life and destiny. Awareness is good, imperative even, however, if there are no practical solutions to the challenges you've been exposed to then you're in trouble, big trouble.

23:30 - Uhmm… I think no innocent child has ever been punished for a father’s sins; only guiltychildren are punished and are guilty of the very sins that their fathers sinned. There is a sense in which children often seem to struggle in similar ways as their parents. Now, I don’t think this means that we have some type of “spiritual DNA” that we pass to our children. But it does seem to be the case that children who are abused can sometimes grow up to abuse others. Sometimes children sin in the opposite way of their parents. Someone with a domineering father might grow up to be a passive father. But this isn’t a universal rule. Sometimes children with terrible fathers get saved and end up being great fathers. In conclusion, at the end of the day, we know that Christ became a curse for us to give us hope, freedom, and eternal life. Because of Christ, we can break the patterns in our lives that are damaging and sinful. If you don’t believe in Him, don’t be shocked when the curses continues on the fourth generation in your bloodline… until there’s one who will break it by being a believer of Christ.

Generational curses can be seen as unhealed family traumas that are passed down through generations, eventually becoming ingrained as family patterns. These patterns shape the way a family interacts and form a unique family culture, often rooted in unresolved pain. When people enter into relationships, it's essential to explore each other's family patterns because our approach to situations, emotional responses, and decision-making can be influenced by the trauma patterns we carry.

I think the word "generational curses" should be "generational ignorance" ngoba that is what it is. And I think calling it "generational ignorance" is empowering in some sense, in that it puts the responsibility on you and that it is something you can most definitely change. Edit: What if the Web is a place where we dump all our collective and generational ignorance as ibantu(human beings)? All the B.S and ignorance from every culture put in one place...and that gives the coming generations, if there will be one, an opportunity to evolve into something greater than US and our ancestors kind of like ku Star Trek.

Generational trauma vs. Generational “Curse” (side note: i think the term should be Generational Habits instead) They conducted an experiment on cows where they put a single cow in a 4 sided enclosure and one of the sides were electrical so every time the cow would touch the electrical side it would get zapped. Years later they took calfs and put them in the same enclosure, every single calf got zapped except for the calf that was born from the initial control cow in the experiment. So in my words I’d personally define a generational trauma as a defense mechanism built into our genetics as means of protection, examples could be the relationship most black South Africans have with dogs, African Americans with swimming etc. Generational “Curse” (habit) i’d say is self explanatory, learned behaviour based on exposure, and because you repeat the cycle you make excuses for not breaking the habit for example, if everyone in the family is overweight and you end up overweight you start saying things like “we’re all going to die anyway whether skinny or fat” or if you have multiple kids by multiple women “i’m a man and monogamy is for penguins” so now instead of accountability you instinctively find ways to make excuses for or defend the set habit because you couldn’t break it, same thing with poverty, people start blaming the system etc. now when you have a person who breaks the habit they maintain the standard of having broken the habit because they know how much discipline they needed to break the “curse” to begin with.. This is just my personal opinion
