My dad and i were standing at turn 10 watching the race. The tv camera doesn't do the smoke justice when jack came in to turn 8, It was so thick you couldn't see though it.

I noticed the broadcasters doing this race for TV, were wearing Performance Racing Network gear. I'm genuinely curious, were these announcers affiliated with PRN during its early years, before Doug Rice and Mark Garrow became a mainstay in the booth, and made PRN what it is today?

Love that gate in the concrete barrier at the start of the pitstraight. What could possibly go wrong with that?

Hey Randy! How's it going? Quick question. Do you know where can I find results for a lower series called Formula Dodge National Championship Presented by RACER? The year was 2001

**POINTS STANDINGS and WINS before the 1985 NATIONAL 500 (25 of 28):** #11 Darrell Waltrip (3626pts with 2 wins, GM) #9 Bill Elliott (-30 with 10 wins, Ford) #33 Harry Gant (-176 with 3 wins, GM) #12 Neil Bonnett (-181 with 2 wins, GM) #15 Ricky Rudd (-283, Ford) #5 Geoff Bodine (-374, GM) #7 Kyle Petty (-428, Ford) #44 Terry Labonte (-474 with 1 win, GM) Dale Earnhardt (GM #3) was 10th behind despite his 4 wins because of NINE mechanical DNFs. Bobby Allison (GM #22) was 11th and winless with 3 mechanical DNFs and 3 race-ending crashes. Meanwhile, the best rookie of 1984, Rusty Wallace (GM #2), was 18th after a really bad Summer. The very surprising winner of the Firecracker 400 was Greg Sacks while Cale Yarborough won the Talladega 500. Drivers listed are the season's current top8, last season's top8 plus the rookie of the year before and whatever race winner that doesn't fit any of those 2 descriptions. Yes, I’m using the unsponsored names of the races. In Charlotte’s case, the Memorial Day race is the World 600 while the later one is the National 500.

Can anyone tell me the differences between the contemporary IMSA GT classes? Kinda funky how a Porsche Carrera RSR raced in the same class as Silhouette 200SX's and RX7's. The GTO class seems similar to the GTS but with Ducktails only?

The Audis were never fast, they just hounded you until you wore out your tires, and then they pounced. The were fast at the end a race, but not in the beginning of a race

GRANATELLI foiled again this time by a hood fitting - the win in 73 is spoiled by the Swede Savage accident & aftermath - the '69 win is nice, but asterisk, comes via a backup car

What a shame! Las Vegas was a NASCAR feuds and 90% of seats was empty!! Most of the drivers unknowed, accidents and bad driving from the start to the finish! IRL was a disaster in its first five years.

So better that except for Indianapolis most of races had almost empty stands, ridicoulous sponsorships (french fries on Eddie Cheever’s car in 1998 Indy 500) mediocres tv ratings (at least until 2002) and drivers that competed only to move up to CART (Kenny Brack) or NASCAR (Tony Stewart, Sam Hornish Jr and others…). And the series has never been profitable in her 12 years of life, surviving only because of IMS and Tony George’s own financial support.

I used to go to all these races. When I was young (14) my older cousin and I would get 2 step ladders and a wood plank and put them in an alley on the backstretch and watch the race in the "cheap seats." We literally sat 3 feet from the track and I had a rinking in my ears that lasted for days. I was 28 years old for this race and my wife and I purchased tickets and sat in the grandstands. Lots of great memories at the Trenton Speedway.
