You USE it by cutting it to the shape of the area you want to mask off and then laying it into place. Exactly what I did here? You then just get on with your artwork. Creating the background is a separate tutorial and nothing to do with the Frisket. This stuff is designed to simply mask off and protect an area to keep it clean. If you know of another use that needs demoing feel free to let me know 😊

I have an array of PrismaColor pencils. How do these translate to the suggested pencils that you have for the tutorial on this project?
@AnimalArtbyLAW7 күн бұрын
Hi, this is just a pressure test video so you only need to pull out a couple of darks, a couple of mid tones and some lights. Specific colours are not important. If you truly want to match though you can get hold of Karen Hull's conversion charts

This is wonderful for multilayers of watercolor, colored pencils and even using a poured method. I know it’s a year later but this really helps for those who even might be losing our abilities that we once had. Nothing wrong with quilter’s magnifying glasses and whatever it takes. 😊

Is there a purpose to rotating through the colors when you do this? Why not do, say, 10 layers of black, 10 layers of blue, 10 layers of white (and then maybe start again with black if determined to not be enough layers)?
@AnimalArtbyLAW27 күн бұрын
@lionessathena8679 because if you just put wite on top of white on top of white on Pastelmat nothing seems to happen. This shows how I work layering and glazing tone and colour, Dark to light too

Hi i know this is 6yrs old but 1 question, where did you get the pencil draw set from, here in New Zealand its very hard to get a set of draws like you have, thank you.
@AnimalArtbyLAW2 ай бұрын
Ooh, this is from a guy called Creations by ROD. He makes a different version of these nowadays to fit a Kallax unit but he does ship overseas. I know the cost might be a lot to send to you but it is worth seeking him out to ask. Good luck!

Could I please mention, that it's a good idea to blur the image with Gaussian blur if your app supports Gaussian blur? This will then remove the minor differences of colours when zoomed in to get a better selection.

Why is your dog crying😢
@AnimalArtbyLAW3 ай бұрын
@madymisucreations9191 this was five years ago so we had 5 dogs then. If you hear a dog crying it would likely have been my female collie wanting to play ball. She thought ball time should be 24/7 😊

Thank you so so much for doing these lives and videos that we are able to access the incredible information that you give us. I'm so sorry that I missed this as a live, I have missed the last few videos as well but I will be going in and catching up. My husband and I am currently helping to raise my oldest grandson because my daughter has been dealing with illness and her two smaller boys and her two stepdaughters and I think she just became overwhelmed.

Loved this video but in part 1, you said you would tell us what to do if we bought single sided drafting film by mistake -which I did- but you didn’t mention it here. Could you answer that?
@AnimalArtbyLAW4 ай бұрын
Hi, yes, I did answer this in another video or live stream at some point but if you really need to use the second side you can gently abrase the shiny side. I find one of the nail buffer blocks with a really high grit works well. You just need to gently take away the gloss/shine to leave the tooth. It isn't perfect but it can help you add a touch of pigment to the reverse.

Can’t you draw it freehand?
@AnimalArtbyLAW5 ай бұрын
Yes I can but not everyone else can. This is just a tool to help EVERYONE have access to using colour pencils. Some get scared at the thought of trying to get a relatively good image transferred onto their support and not many had the privilege of going to art college like I did. People can use whatever method they like. Do you prefer to freehand?

Excellent video thanks. Almost all the other Gimp videos that describe this process , the screen image isn't clear and sharp. The voices are often muffled and worse they seem to try and rush through it as quickly as possible making it almost useless as an instructional video. The only way is to turn on subtitles and continually backspace the video to try and pick out what they just selected. I will be viewing your other video's thanks again. Regards Owen (from Down Under)
