Hi i know this is 6yrs old but 1 question, where did you get the pencil draw set from, here in New Zealand its very hard to get a set of draws like you have, thank you.
@AnimalArtbyLAWАй бұрын
Ooh, this is from a guy called Creations by ROD. He makes a different version of these nowadays to fit a Kallax unit but he does ship overseas. I know the cost might be a lot to send to you but it is worth seeking him out to ask. Good luck!

Could I please mention, that it's a good idea to blur the image with Gaussian blur if your app supports Gaussian blur? This will then remove the minor differences of colours when zoomed in to get a better selection.

Why is your dog crying😢
@AnimalArtbyLAW2 ай бұрын
@madymisucreations9191 this was five years ago so we had 5 dogs then. If you hear a dog crying it would likely have been my female collie wanting to play ball. She thought ball time should be 24/7 😊

I'm so sorry that I missed this as a live, I have missed the last few videos as well but I will be going in and catching up. My husband and I am currently helping to raise my oldest grandson because my daughter has been dealing with illness and her two smaller boys and her two stepdaughters and I think she just became overwhelmed.

Loved this video but in part 1, you said you would tell us what to do if we bought single sided drafting film by mistake -which I did- but you didn’t mention it here. Could you answer that?
@AnimalArtbyLAW3 ай бұрын
Hi, yes, I did answer this in another video or live stream at some point but if you really need to use the second side you can gently abrase the shiny side. I find one of the nail buffer blocks with a really high grit works well. You just need to gently take away the gloss/shine to leave the tooth. It isn't perfect but it can help you add a touch of pigment to the reverse.

Can’t you draw it freehand?
@AnimalArtbyLAW4 ай бұрын
Yes I can but not everyone else can. This is just a tool to help EVERYONE have access to using colour pencils. Some get scared at the thought of trying to get a relatively good image transferred onto their support and not many had the privilege of going to art college like I did. People can use whatever method they like. Do you prefer to freehand?

Excellent video thanks. Almost all the other Gimp videos that describe this process , the screen image isn't clear and sharp. The voices are often muffled and worse they seem to try and rush through it as quickly as possible making it almost useless as an instructional video. The only way is to turn on subtitles and continually backspace the video to try and pick out what they just selected. I will be viewing your other video's thanks again. Regards Owen (from Down Under)

To save all that printer ink I put my photo into an app on my iPad, then on a ‘layer’ I draw all the outline and detail. I then print this simple line drawing to whatever size I want. If it’s larger than A4 I print it off in sections ☺️
@AnimalArtbyLAW6 ай бұрын
Yes, that is another method that I show my students how to do it. I try to show as many different options possible from using a light box to creating line art digitally or like this simply printing off the reference. The print out can then be used throughout the drawing process as a reference

Ever designed your friskets digitally, then downloaded the files to a plotter to cut them out using frisket paper? Makes life a heck of a lot easier.
@AnimalArtbyLAW6 ай бұрын
That's a great idea for those who might have one. I don't use the frisket often and this was just a method I shared yo make people aware of the product. To justify the price of a plotter I would need to utilise it much more but hopefully someone out there might read your suggestion and have access to one.

Wow, I am absolutely blown away by your artwork of foxes! The level of detail and the vibrant colors you used are simply mesmerizing. Each brushstroke seems to bring the foxes to life, capturing their grace and cunning in a way that feels both realistic and magical. The way you’ve managed to depict their fur with such texture and depth is nothing short of extraordinary. It looks so soft and fluffy that I almost want to reach out and pet them! Your choice of background perfectly complements the foxes, creating a harmonious balance that draws the viewer’s eye to the main subjects while still providing a rich, immersive environment. The light and shadow work is phenomenal, adding a dynamic and almost three-dimensional quality to the piece. I can tell that you put a lot of thought into every aspect, from the composition to the smallest details, and it really shows. The expressions on the foxes’ faces are incredibly expressive and full of character. It’s clear that you have a deep understanding of these beautiful creatures, and your passion for them shines through in your work. The playful glint in their eyes, the curious tilt of their heads, and the fluid motion of their bodies all contribute to a narrative that feels alive and engaging. It’s like you’ve captured a moment in time in the wild, allowing us to glimpse the secret world of these fascinating animals. I could spend hours admiring every intricate detail and still find new things to appreciate each time I look. Your talent is truly remarkable, and this artwork is a testament to your skill and creativity. Thank you for sharing such an awe-inspiring piece with us. It’s not just a drawing of foxes; it’s a captivating story and a work of art that evokes wonder and admiration. You are incredibly gifted, and I can’t wait to see more of your amazing creations!
