Anybody out there make it to The Motorcycle Show in 1974 , held in London , I think it was in Earls Court , there was a specialised stand inside with a competition being held on it called " Balance The Bultaco " , entrants had to go for balancing a fantastic Spanish Bultaco trials bike upright on the stand,s podium without having the engine running or touching the floor , you could rock it around all angles using your own balance & weight & the bike,s brakes but that was all , we watched a guy do it for about an hour , & he definitely could . Real entertainment , he deserved to win . For the uninitiated , a Bultaco is an excellent Spanish bike having great frame dynamics that just seem to co-operate with you , & an engine that has got as much bottom - end power from dead as Donald Campbell,s Bluebird . Open that throttle too quick on one of these & you,re going flying off the back ! A man,s bike alright .

Me too! You'd have Murray Walker or Colin 'utchinson commentating about the above 2 ^^^ + Brian Goss, Arthur Browning, Jeff Smith, Vic Eastwood, Dave Nicoll... Do you remember the bloke with 1 leg & crutches who always saw off the start? After it'd been on the telly me & mates would all go off to the woods nr where we lived on our pushbikes, but all racing would stop in time for us to be home for the footy results.

@@Tranmere59 Wow... wonderful memories and I remember all of those names you mentioned. I loved the speed and the way those guys dealt with the obstacles and MUD! To me, they were real heroes. Haha... football. I guess that it passed me by, despite being a Liverpool girl. The moto guys were really attractive to me, but the footballers seemed a bit unimpressive on a personal level. I watched the wrestling at 4.00pm with grandma... haha. Pure theatre. Thanks for sharing your memories. Very much appreciated.

I raced "scrambles" in Florida in the early to mid 1960's I rode a 250 Jawa Scrambler. American scrambles was quite different from European motocross. If was much less rough riding with most of the tracks having a jump or two but mostly flat and very dusty. If my mother knew I was out racing on a Sunday my bike would have been locked in the garage until I was at least 40!!

That's the spirit! We're big on motocross down here in Dorset, and many times as a teenager I had sneak out quietly to take our friends bikes out for a blast in the local quarries. Fortunately, we never had any serious spills, so never had to reveal our 'playtime' to our mothers. Some of the bikes, though, weren't so lucky in escaping injury!

Thank you for this! I'm trying to accomplish some wiring a bit more complex than just "switch on and off" (installing LED lights with both a hardwired connection and a controller; LED strips have a positive, and then the ground placement decides the color; ie, ground to red or blue, or red and green, etc) where I need to be able to not only switch the power line, but also the ground source. Being able to see it so simply helped me visualize it much easier. Thanks a bunch!

How do you get the piston back out from the hole when it's been pressed to the bottom I mean atleast for me when i press it down theres no room under it for the fluid to push it back up??
@stumpusMaximus
@stumpusMaximus Жыл бұрын
When compressing the calliper, put a cloth around the brake lever reservoirs, otherwise you will push the brake fluid back up and overflow! Or simply bleed some out with proper gear so as to not get air in the system

I bought the book as soon as I saw it, interested in seeing the story within large automotive manufacturers a well as learning about one of my favourite cars (the A110!). I was not disappointed at all - the book is excellent! Well written, with a great balance of detail and readability, and providing a fascinating insight only available from someone involved right at the heart of these projects.

UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust kzbin.infoUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Any chance I can get his email address? Have a silly question about Iris Blue vs Speedwell Blue. His MG Midget and Austin Healey Sprite restoration guide says they're the same color and I want to ask him if they indeed are. I keep hearing Speedwell is lighter or darker and I want to settle the matter by seeing a color code for both :-) how pedantic is that, lol.

Hmm … well, we've contacted the man himself: here's what he has to say. Dear mundanestuff, Having just spent countless hours researching a 1970 Citroen colour code, you have my deepest sympathy ;) However, I think you may have spotted the 'deliberate' (ahem!) mistake in one of my books. (A page number would be useful and appreciated, please.) A quick online search indicates that Iris and Speedwell blues have different paint codes and, if so, are therefore different. The paint code is the nearest you'll get to a sure-fire identifier. So, you'll need to do some more online digging, searching for paint code numbers and weeding out the chaff from the wheat. A few extra comments: 1. Have you got the paint code on the VIN or other plate on the car? 2. Whatever you buy won't come close to any original paint because it fades and colour-changes over time. No problem if doing a total respray but you'll need an experienced body shop's colour tinter to make a closer match. 3. Results from different paint manufacturers, mixing schemes and human 'fat thumbs' can differ. For a full respray, buy enough to do the job from the first batch of paint. Now, back to my 1970 Kirghize, Orange Citroen Mehari, code AC315. I just this minute had to order more paint because I miscalculated with respect to '3' above. I'll make sure painted panels from different batches don't appear side-by-side, just in case… Bonne chance! Lindsay I hope that helps.

Is it possible to hear rumble? Sometimes when I'm driving I can hear a bass noise and I think it's just the car vibrating like a speaker would with pressure waves because of going over potholes. Is this just my imagination? I thought this might relate to natural frequencies in spring rate but I'm not able to find info on the audio aspects of this. Or if evwryday physical materials can even convert vibration into audio the way speakers do. Like a metal wall, or large glass windows in the wind, etc.

Interested in trying this out. My previous car was a 1998 Honda Accord. My current car is a 2008 Honda Fit. The steering on the Fit is SO much lighter, that I'm kind of afraid I might swerve harder than I'd want to, if ever something happens while I'm on the road. I wish it had selectable strength levels, like the 2nd gen Kia Soul does. I'll go through the service manual, and see if I can find out which wires I would need to add the potentiometers to, and maybe try this out some time this summer. If a test works, I'll try and find the resistances needed for normal, medium, and heavy. Then install a 3-way rocker switch with those resistors in the blank plug next to the side mirror adjuster.
