So despite the fancy jig still some sloppy routes on the front off the guitar. Granted you don't see them when the bridge is installed, but.... Besides, the V tail piece looks stupid with no strings attached but removing it doesn't make it better either

hello, i know this is a very old video but if you could offer some advice I would be very grateful. Im currently in the process of putting a floyd rose on my yamaha pacifica and im stumped on how to attatch the nut. I was wondering if you drilled the screw directly threw the nut through the shim and into the neck, or if you first attatched the shim to the neck then screwed the nut into it. The screw holes for the nut are aligned over the truss rod hole so im hesitant to screw into it. Any idea what i should do?

You should have plained a quarter inch off the top of the body before you put cap on, now it's way to thick defeating the purpose of making lighter because it's more uncomfortable to hold now. Try please

Thanks for the video… Is the percussive guitar music played using the LR Baggs Anthem? Wanting a percussive pickup and the Anthem seems one of the best but not sure how well it does for percussion.

That's very cool, funny how it turned out to be an old BC Rich Bronze series neck hahaha, but it looks really cool on a V body, and the Avenger has always been really cool. I watched a music video of this band Void and one of the guitar players was playing an Avenger with a 24 fret Charvel neck, when the originals were 22, and the same mod must have been made, very cool instrument.

Il semble qu'il était donc mieux de coller le renfort directement sur l'éclisse plutot que sur le fond? Tu as fait le choix aussi de ne pas mettre un deuxième renfort comme il devait y avoir à l'origine?

This begs the question. Why? Just get a fretted bass. They can be found reasonably priced. Probably not too much more than having one fretted. Then the option to play either exists. If you don't want the fretted bass, sell it. Between what you get for it, and what you save on the work, you can get a pretty nice one.

Did the guitar already come with a tilted neck? Or was the neck high enough already for you to be able to lift the Floyd high enough to pull back and still maintain a good action? I’m confused I always assumed top mounted Floyd’s should have a tilted neck to compensate for the lack of space

I have bought this , there is a lot to this kit, the pice that belongs under the nut is a form of soft plastic, it could be metal but it’s not why? Strat is bright enough already ! Maybe it’s for tone and false harmonic control? And as others have said I believe the string slots are the barer of the intonation like a zero fret the roller bearings are just a replacement for an fat steal nut for an easier glide , this said the cut to the fret side has to be wrong for a proper setup that’s probably why the gentleman posted ‘it’s junk don’t use it the bearings pop out, I watched a video done as the kit suggest and it sounds great and looks really nice. I’m very interested in how many installed by this gentleman and how it turns out , his short cut definitely makes it look easy.

The plastic is only used for strats that had the wilkinson roller nut as that nut was larger and the spacer fills the void it leaves. The instructions tell you all of this. You do not use that unless you have one of those old nuts. And the bearings are the witness points for the intonation, not the front slot. The string doesnt rest on the front. Thats why you have to cut it towards the first fret. Also if someone says the bearings pop out Id love to see one. Those metal tabs sure make it hard for a bearing to get past.

I went and did more research on this and see that I was wrong and retract my first comment, as I have watched so many videos they’re all one giant video in my head as I wanted to use the zero fret instead of the LSR , on the zero fret the string guide is on the tuners side and logically makes more sense.
@gatorgrass3
@gatorgrass3 3 ай бұрын
In other videos the LSR rollers face the first fret and the guide slots are on the tuners side, with this setup , logically you would think you would get string buzz from the guide slots as the rollers are V shaped to fit tight against the strings,
@jubjub905
@jubjub905 2 ай бұрын
Dude, he did it right. You dont get string buzz. Do it the other way and you’ll have muted open strings because the rubber pads will press against the strings on the wrong side. They need to be on the tuner side to dampen sympathetic vibrations. Theyre why you dont need a string tree with these nuts.

Does moving the nut forword at the first fret change the intonation of the guutar? Would it be better to remove wood towards the headstock than towards the body? Are the locking tuners staggered?
@realtruenorth
@realtruenorth 3 ай бұрын
No! Because the resting point on an LSR roller nut is recessed compared to a normal nut. The strings are resting on the 2 ball bearings in the middle instead of leading edge towards the body like a standard nut. You have to move towards the body to insure you DON'T mess with the intonation. Fender themselves state this.
