Construction techniques are completely different in Latin America. Americans build houses of wood and shingles and have to replace the roofs every decade or so. Latin people build their homes with concrete and flat roofs and spend very little money maintaining them. We have homes in our barrio here in Medellin that were built 200 years ago and they still look the same. Mexico is the same way, homes are built to last.

I've been planning a trip to Jardin. Is Jerico the better option? Or are they pretty similar?
@SaraBurdick22 күн бұрын
Depends.. Jardin is much bigger and more touristy. I personally prefer Jericó, but I also live here. It is not over-run with tourists. Depends on what you are looking for, if you want a bigger, more tourists, then Jardin, I also think there are two really long hikes there tourists enjoy. Jerico is smaller, more locals, a walk to a waterfall,the botanical gardens and las nubes. Depending on how much time you have, you could do both, we are about 2 hours apart.
