Welcome, back, Mike! Good to see you! I ride with my neck covered and sleeves...I had squamous cell skin cancer on my neck two years ago. Not fun. We have some of those shirts Reeltree maybe is the brand...they have SPF in them. Got ours at Wallyworld...that looks like a great shirt!

The one I bought seems to be working well. The next ones I'm gonna look for a thumb hole. Keep the sleeves from riding up. 😀

I have been shopping for a new jacket. Tried on a nice one the other day. Would keep the arms covered and offer some protection in case of an accident.
@xanbiker9 күн бұрын
Yes, it has been a while since your last video. when it is hot outside, I usually wear those long sleeved fishing shirts, depending on how long I plan on being out. Since I always wear gloves, it helps prevent tan lines around my wrist.
@NVARider4 күн бұрын
That's the kind of shirt I'm looking at. Trying to keep it tucked under my glove to avoid that line. Haha. Just opposite of having a white ring because of my watch. 😀
@RoadReality9 күн бұрын
I spray sun block on my face and neck, but everything else is covered... after my last m/c accident, my wife was insistent that I wear gear all the time - and she'd foot the bill for stuff I was comfy in and would wear all the time. Now, I have several jackets for different temps, including a Bohn Airtex shirt for super hot days. There's no abrasion resistance, but it has impact resistance ... and bonus, it makes me look like an out-of-work Power Ranger. Normally I wear a mesh jacket though. I find it quite comfy, even up into the 90s.
@NVARider4 күн бұрын
Sunblock is a good idea. This new shirt has a hood. Haven't tried putting it up under my helmet yet. I've started looking at mesh jackets too. They would offer a little more protection than a thin shirt in an accident.
@RoadReality4 күн бұрын
@@NVARider I highly recommend mesh jackets, especially with built-in armor. It's not heavy to wear, but the benefits of no burn AND impact/abrasion resistance? Can't beat it! :D
@PaulsMotoZen9 күн бұрын
I wear a long sleeve moisture wicking compression shirt under my t-shirts, or I wear a mesh jacket. I am not a fan of sunblock lotions.
@NVARider4 күн бұрын
If I wear sunblock it's the stuff in a spray can. Not a fan of getting it all over my hands. Especially if we are out and I can't wash.

It’s like 1% clubs forget they’re in the real world. I average 7-10,000 miles a yr. Personally I just ignore them. It’s not like you’re going to have an intellectual conversation. Or decide world events. The forks in the roads serve a purpose.

I’ve been riding with some younger folks recently. When they’re with me, they’re pretty sane, but I know a couple of them are not sane all the time. It scares me, but at the same time, I have tried to explain to them that they are not invincible. “Don’t be that guy!” Is exactly what I’m telling them. I am to constantly harp on my son, but the rest are on their own, and I can only wish them the best!!!

It is what it is. Let people ride their own ride. If you want to speed? Cool. Want to run from cops? Great. Want to cruise the speed limit? Fantastic. If I die because I lost control at 180 that’s a possibility I’ve accepted. We all make it sooner or later.

As long as riders don’t endanger any other people or families on the road idgaf how fast they go. It’s not my life. Most motor cops by me in Arizona all go faster than traffic; 50-55 in 45 mph zones and 80 in 65 mph zones. Looks like your in the country but in big cities it’s very different brother.

I'll be 73 shortly. Riding keeps me focused, energized, even <dare I say it?> feeling a bit youthful. Motivation isn't hard......I was one of those very rare people who loved his job. Now, in retirement, I take my alma mater's young geology students into the field to begin to sense what this earth is all about. In a few months, taking a group to the UP of Michigan. Really looking forward to that. Look forward! Always forward.
