I leave this comment out of sincere concern. Have you considered the hazards especially marketing this as a lovey. I used to make pacifier clips and the length had to be no more than 7". The other large toy snakes are stuffed so they are wider and stiffer. Just some food for thought. They are cute maybe a shorter version? Took me 40min to consider posting this so I mean no disrespect just concern.

Thank you for your comment and concern, we talked about this, actually, when were working on this pattern. This pattern is to be treated as a knotted lovey with safety eyes, not for kids under age 3. Knotted lovies are not just for the very young ;)

Hi. I bought the book and I can’t tie the legs. I had tried a pattern of a cat a few months ago and forgot I could not tie hers wither and could not finish it. I saw your other tutorial about you helping to make the upper part of the leg. Have you made a tutorial about tying the knot? I undid the whole foot and almost all the leg and I’m going to try to make a different food but I would love to know did you add Rose to be able to tie the knot?
@WindyHillCrochet
@WindyHillCrochet 27 күн бұрын
Hi! Thanks for watching! I haven't done a tutorial on knotting the lovey, but I have found that it's been a common issue for a lot of people! My #1 suggestion is not stuffing feet until it is knotted, and I think if you still struggle it's a good idea to add a few extra rows of hdc when you are making the long narrow spot for the knot. I will save the legs of my next lovie to film a tutorial for sure!

I love this book but, I have had some issues with the fox and dragon patterns. The nostrils and horns did not line up on the dragon. And the color changes on the fox head did not line up. Have you had any issues with these two?
@WindyHillCrochet
@WindyHillCrochet Ай бұрын
Yes, I have had this issue, too with the nostrils. The horns and nostrils might not line up because of the tension you have in your project (mine also rarely matches up with any designer), I usually place the nostils where they align with the eyes/horns on the specific lovey I'm working on. It is usually 1-2 stitches different from how the pattern is written. I haven't made the fox yet to see the color changes, but I've made the cow many times and I'm sure my first few times I was off in more than one place. I've also noticed that if they have you start a color change early, the tension of the project still usually makes it look perfectly in line. I'm not sure if you tried completing it to see how it might work out as written, but might be worth a shot? I know it's hard to commit to finishing something you're not sure about turning out properly though!

@@WindyHillCrochet The other one I had trouble with was the fawn. The dino and bunny worked up perfectly with no issues. I am planning to make the cow next. I always have to add more rows to the legs, or I can't knot them. Do you have that issue? I bought the original pattern a few years ago on Etsy for the unicorn. I am not sure if the pattern has been updated since then.
@WindyHillCrochet
@WindyHillCrochet Ай бұрын
I also have the original unicorn pattern! Personally I keep a fairly loose gauge, so I haven't had a lot of issues making knots as the pattern is written, but I've also started not stuffing my animals feet until I've knotted the legs. That cuts down on frustration a lot. If it's not long enough for you personally, I think adding a few extra rows is the perfect way to make up for it 😊

How many rows did you have to add? I’m very frustrated with trying to tie the legs I had a cat pattern and same issue and just stopped and was so disappointed bc the head was so complicated with all the color changes. There is no way I could tie legs of the Dino in the book moma made minis. Help 😂please. What I did was undo all the leg and made it like short. And hope I can remember what I did to make the second leg. Oh me oh my 😮😂 suggestions me please Thanks
