Hi, How to stop that white mold that appeares in the ceramic of the diffuser every day?
@AquatikGuru2 ай бұрын
I never had this concern until my bottles were almost empty I’m assuming it has something to do with simply just cleaning it.
@Calos2032 ай бұрын
@@AquatikGuru it started to happen in the 2nd week, I do clean the diffuser, got it out cleaned it very well and in the next day it was full of that kind of mold again. I'm guessing it has something to do with the yeast getting through somehow like in a normal DIY system where we need a bottle with water.. Otherwise the system is working great... Gonna try adding a bubble counter to simulate that 2nd bottle

I’m planning to set up same shallow tank and I’m trying to see what filter should I use and I came across your video. Any pictures of the canister set up in the tank and what do you think about the filter in that tank?
@AquatikGuru2 ай бұрын
I no longer have pictures of this setup. I do have a few update videos in between videos like this that may show you what you are looking for. The canister was great for it a lil bit high on flow from what I wanted but at the same time it worked great. I eventually had a friend custom make a 3D printed spray bar and that solved my problem.

I never saw anything in any of my aquariums until I watched a video about these worms and now I saw something on my one aquarium. They're not linear... They just look like little tiny white specks that are moving. Is that planaria that just hasn't grown yet or is it something else if it's not linear? I got an aquarium sponge on a handle and just wiped the glass. I'm sure it didn't get rid of them. If these are not planaria do you know what they are and how to get rid of them?

That’s not planaria. Possibly daphnia, seed shrimp, or little tiny snails. But most likely seed shrimp which is usually a sign of a nice clean tank :)

Fluval bug bites gives your tanks planaria. A short time after I purchased three different varieties and feeding them to certain tanks those tanks had outbreaks of planaria. I’m here now relaying a test I done with six twelve litre tanks with four receiving three products of fluval bug bites. Their tropical formula medium/large grain tropical formula small grain and bottom feeder formula. Those four tanks that had fluval products after three months had planaria. The other two were fed with what I was using before and nothing other than seed shrimp visible. Now I could’ve made a first time purchase of something and one if not all three items were a bad batch but I won’t be using those products again or testing to see which one. My experience and advice on fluval bug bites is don’t use it unless you’re ok with planaria. Having to get rid of them got rid of much of the other beneficial micro life which I could luckily reintroduce from other tanks through water and items sat in a healthy matured tank being moved to the the nuked tank. For eradication I used another method I use for complete annihilation in quarantine tanks and that was panacur c dog dewormer in powder form. Before that it was copper which would’nt have been able to go in anything with shrimp and fish. Panacur c can also avoid harming snails at low doses too. Partly why I use it over other products I’ve never tried for reasons such as what I’m saying right now.

Fortunately I never had this problem with bug bites. Mine were directly linked to a plant supplier. Luckily I caught it before it caused issues. In my fish only tanks that I feed TONS of big bites I never found planaria.
@saladnander3690Ай бұрын
Interesting! I have been using bug bites in my tanks for 5+ years and only recently got planaria. So either it's not the bug bites, or it's specific batches I guess

After you started the new tank I didn’t see you condition the water let alone put heater in to warm the water right from a hose. Esp for betta’s that requires warm water…? Was this something you did immediately after the video?

What I actually do is I measure my tank water and equalize it at the hose. Hopefully 2-5 degrees cooler to enact a rain fall.

When were you able to add snails back to the tank? I’ve got nerites and I’m reading personal account wherein people added them back months later and they still died :/
@AquatikGuru5 ай бұрын
I never did add them back in that exact setup. I removed the shrimp. Quarantined them in a separate tank. Same with the snails. Quarantined the plants with planaria traps to catch any leftovers. Put most the plants in my platy tank so they’d just eat all the planaria. Removed losses as needed that were already infested with planaria. Cleaned entire tank. Replaced filters and everything else in there and re introduced all the survivors .
@Midnightwolf13335 ай бұрын
@@AquatikGuru Thank you for explaining your process!! According to the no-planaria packet, it is shrimp and plant safe, did you quarantine them just to be on the safe side or to avoid them experiencing an ammonia spike after the planaria died off?
