I know some doctors here in my place who use explorers and straight probes to extract fractured root tips.. It might render the probes useless in the future, but helps you get that teeny tiny root tip hiding deep in the socket.. And once my senior doctor said about an anomaly, she had to extract a pair of premolars for orthodontic space creation, she found the root tip to be unusually sharp even though the morphology apparently shows the complete tooth was extracted, she used explorer tip to check the socket and yes, there was something remaining, and she elevated that out using explorer tip.. It was soo thin like a hollow needle about a millimeter long.. It was found in the apex of the contralateral premolar as well.. One cannot take it out without explorer

I’ve had five teeth pulled, four wisdom teeth and one molar and I didn’t have a single dry socket. It’s something I was dreading and lucky did not have to deal with it.

I rinsed my mouth while turning my head sideways and that takes out a lot of food from the socket. I had a lot more food than I thought. I think I'm not the only one who was let go home with very minimal information on how to avoid dry socket.
@WillCrump-e5x
@WillCrump-e5x Ай бұрын
Why not use this prophylactically? The dry socket is going to hit when you are at home and it could be DAYS before your dentist can see you. I couldn't fathom this kind of pain 24/7.

If you look closely, you are creating a series of slip knots rather than a series of square knots. If you pinch these finished knots and pull, they will slide down supply/needle side of the suture. Not a secure suture especially with monofilament suture.

Thank you for this video! While it sounds like this video was intended for dental professionals, it was extremely helpful to me! I’m an RN and I still felt clueless as to how to replace the gauze after all my 4 wisdom teeth were removed. Keep up the great work with these videos!

It gave me full relief but only for about 26 hours, then quite quickly some of the pain came back. I am now at 33 hours and the pain isn't back like before, and I may be able to wait it out for a few days.. I guess I'll know later today! I feel a bit scared of getting it repacked...are there dangers in getting it taken out/repacked by a dentist?? ...Now at 37 hours and pain definitely bearable (unlike before Alveogyl), but the paste may still be doing some painkilling work.. I'll know by tonight I think...Now at 42 hours and little pain! I think it might have worked! I'll keep updating... Now at 60 hours and the pain is just an ache, very manageable. I expect a slow recovery from now on. Another few days or a week and I won't feel much anymore :) So, Alveogyl is a life saver! I bought some of my own! For reference: (Alveogyl does break down almost completely, in your socket, just leaving a few very fine fibre strands, which should be lifted out by the natural healing action over time) - (You shouldn't swish any liquid in your mouth for 24 hours after insertion, you don't want anything getting into the socket and breaking it down prematurely)

How are you feeling now? I had some put in 33 hrs ago (lower wisdom tooth removed last week and developed dry socket) and I’ve been still needing to take pain killers all day along with my antibiotics. Hoping this stuff works! Barely eating as I’m scared it will come out.
@tomr1056
@tomr1056 Ай бұрын
@@TripleTrouble2013 I had smoothies and soups through a straw, going into the other side of mouth. Are you ok now? ...I had complete relief for a day and then after that the pain was much better than before...I think from the start of the dry socket pain (3 days after extraction) it was another 2 weeks before it was really over...It's possible you also had pain from an infection? Some people only get good relief from Alveogyl after the second time it's put in the socket. I will always have some around when getting a molar extraction from now on!

Brother, I appreciate this so much! My doktor left me with a small piece of gauze in my mouth (which was very bad placed, on my other tooth and partly on the operated tooth) , and just said “bite a lil on it for an hour” and let me go. This while he extracted my 2 wisdom teeth on the left side + 1 upper tooth next to the wisdom teeth. Also he never said that I should drink in the first hours or spit out the blood. Because I wasn’t aware of how important it is to make the bleeding stop, I drinked water and I didn’t panicked for like 3-4 hours. Then I began to get huge blood (dark red/black) cloths which where abnormal, it was like there was huge pieces of meat in my mouth (very disgusting). When I called the hospital, she just told me to roll a gauze as if it’s a sigar and bite on it, but I put the gauze vertically (because the initial dokter placed it like that) and I used up 8-9 gauzes. No stopping bleeding and finally at 1 am in the night I found your video which explained perfectly how to put the gauze between your teeth and that it’s extremely important to keep high pressure on the wounds. After fighting against my sleep, biting down for 40 minutes, it FINALLY stopped bleeding and the gauze wasn’t as bloody and nasty as all the other gauzes. So thank you very much for your video, I was about to go to the hospital, but now I can finally rest and eat some. Bless you brother!

I might need to go back to my surgeon to see what they think but it’s 20 mins away

If you're holding the suture needle/driver in the left hand, the right hand is doing all the work. Make sure to keep the tension on the suture with the left hand as you continue to form your knots. Hopefully this helps! Keep at it as it takes some practice. All the best!

Just for clarification, that one bottle would be used only for one patient? It cannot be used for multiple patients, I assume? If that’s the case then use the other systems like Onset?
