you prefer the s-12 over the s-16? I was worried the s-12 may be too long. I am looking for a handpiece to use for both 3rd molars and opening lateral windows sinuses

Sorry for the delay! I have never tried the S-16 as a comparison, but what I can say is the S-12 offers great visibility and the added length is nice to reach posteriorly. In the end it's probably more about who's holding it and how it's used! Let me know what you go with and how you like it! All the best!

Do you find your bur selection is limited due to the 70mm requirement? Also what brand burs do you recommend getting for 70mm? Thank you!

You can find plenty of choices here: shop.brasseler.ca/Catalog/Carbides/Surgical-Carbides/Oral-Surgery-Carbides I typically use a 1703L. All the best!

Great video! I also use the s12, but I find it occasionally overheats despite proper lubrication. Any advices? What is your maintenance protocol? Much appreciated!

My concern is does the angle and 1:2 ratio have an effect on durability? Its still a $2k piece. The straight W&H onces that I have seem to last forever.

At what point did you switch to electric handpieces and how was the transition? I’ve primarily used air and strongly considering making the jump to electric.

Jared - I primarily use this handpiece and the NSK Z-45L TiMAX for surgical procedures. Once you try them and compare them to the air-driven surgical handpieces, there is really no comparison. Both get the job done, but you'll like the electrics due to their power / torque allowing you to cut without stalling out the bur. I have used the Impact Air handpiece which again in my opinion does not compare. I've used these pretty much since the beginning so I can't say there was a moment I switched. All the best and thanks for watching!

@@OnlineExodontia what motor and settings do you prefer?
@OnlineExodontia2 жыл бұрын
@@JaredGibby I do not have a specific preference for a motor. Any implant motor will do and if you don't have one there are some relatively cheap ones that you can find online (x-cube is one) if you just want to give it a try. Running at 40,000RPM will give you 80,000RPM due to the 1:2 increaser. This will allow you to use external irrigation which is nice. Alternately, you can have an assistant load up a syringe with sterile saline and drop a bit on for you as you work. The only down-side to this is it takes up a hand for your assistant so it's nicer to use the external irrigation. All the best!

Which bur are you using?

1703L - you need the longer shanks however (65mm). Thanks for watching!

@@OnlineExodontia thanks for reply. What is the length of the handpiece?
@OnlineExodontia2 жыл бұрын
@@rajul678 Rajul - sorry but I do not know off-hand how long the handpiece is. I imagine it would say on the W&H website someplace. All the best!
