I'll tell y'all why Black Superheroes have Electric Powers. It took me some years and listening to other black truthers and research to figure this out: 1. MELANIN, which is an excellent electromagnetic conductor and IS used in many modern day electronics to this day. If melanin works so well in electronics, imagine what it is supposed to do at the source. Why do you think so many black women and kids (the more vulnerable) go missing every year. MELANIN can only be gotten organically and we're the only people that produce large quantities of it ( it's sold and used commercially). 2. YE ARE GODS- Psalm 82:6 We (Black People) are Children of The Most High God and many of the Chosen will be gifted superpowers at the End of this Age (happening now) and the Illuminati Freemasonic figures over this world including the comic book world KNOW THIS. 3. "JUNK DNA"- The Junk DNA that scientists talk about is actually our dormant god DNA that will be activated via gamma rays from the Sun. These rays carry light codes/coding (God's way of upgrading us via His creations) to us via our skin/melanin and this will upgrade those that follow the Messiah's laws, statues and commandments to the best ability. This explains why the Sun gets hotter each year. This will upgrade some and purge others that are unfit. 4. GAMMA RADIATION- The melanin on us that many have hated, will be envied during these End Times. I lost my mom to cancer in 2020, so phase 4 was just WOW. That episode of moon knight, I believe it’s episode 6 about his brother and mom….oh my god. Wrecked me completely! The Wakanda Forever was literally the best ending of phase 4…I think they did everyone justice with that. Guardians 3 could’ve been in phase 4 also, it would’ve fit the mold as well. Shang Chi was a good example also.

There’s an actual reason for this. DC’s contract with the creator of Black Lightning involved paying him royalties whenever they used the character, but they didn’t want to pay him royalties and considering the similarities were skin color and electricity, it couldn’t be trademarked and wouldn’t hold up in court if he sued DC for it. So in the superfriends reboot they made Black Vulcan to avoid paying Black Lightning’s royalties, then after they got the rights to static shock(from a publishing company owned by DC) they created Soulpower as a Black Lightning ripoff for Static Shock to look up to (again to avoid royalties)… so aside from Storm being a coincidence, most of the characters were created specifically to avoid how expensive it was to use the original product until they started churning out black superheroes with electricity powers and it became a trope just from DC alone… and then of course Marvel copied them because Marvel and DC are notorious for copying each other’s homework

I feel like this is one of those questions that gets debated by people who'll find their quote supporting their stance and ignore everything else. I'm not that big into comics so the history of things isn't as known to me, but I've been under the presumption that the political themes were always important to the series. Even if they weren't as clearly indicated from day 1, both the subtle and overt usage over time and to this day should be proof enough.

Of course X-Men have always been political. All of comics have always been left leaning. That isn't the problem though. The problem with today's comics is that they're not really progressive anymore and more to do with it being liberal. Case in point, look at all and I mean ALL the characters being changed. Progressive writing doesn't just retcon someone. When progressives see a problem like under representation, they would correct it natural by adding new heroes. A liberal's perspective is to just change them into the new mold. "Modernize" the situation and settings. No one likes that crap except for liberals... No one wanted to see 75% of the Marvel character just magically turn bisexual and gay. LGBTQ as a whole only makes up around 7-8% in the world population... why are you seeing over half the character be bisexual? There really should only be a very small handful of LGBTQ characters. You CREATE new heroes and add them into lineups where it makes sense and develop them naturally and watch them become hits. Case in point, Jubilee represented millennials and is an instant hit. They could have done that, but they all lost their ways and quite frankly are over ran by SJW types in these companies.

theres a difference between being political within the confines of the stories narrative structure and pushing a real world political agenda using characters as simple mouth pieces for the writers point of view, regardless of how out of character that makes the character act.
