Here I am again, learing stuff about consoles that I've never owned and never plan on trying to get. Not all of the consoles mentioned here fall into that category though. I own a (working) Wii and (also working) PS2, and I would like to get (or at least use) a Wii U, GameCube, PS1, and DS someday. Also maybe an SNES.

huh. i haven't thought about it before, but now i'm curious. what if, hypothetically, the files for a "corrupted system files" error screen like at 6:32 got corrupted themselves? 1. would the console still try to throw up the error if files for it were the only corrupted files? 2. what would happen if it tried to show the (ironically) corrupted error? i imagine it would vary from console to console, but i'm genuinely curious. i don't know that much about coding, so i can't figure it out myself. does anyone know, or could anyone test it?

man i have tRAUMA from the eas alerts bc one time at like 3:00 a.m. i was asleep n all and then BAM. i just brushed it off andthought "ehhhhhh, its just an amber alert." then i realized HOLY CRAP ITS NOT AN AMBER ALERT, I DONT HAVE MY AMBER ALERT MESSAGES ON OMG. 3 EAS' WENT OFF WITH (respectively; in that order,) A TORNADO WARNING, A LOOOONG AHH FLASH FLOOD WARNING (it said like 3:00 a.m. to like 9:00 a.m.), AND ANOTHER TORNADO WARNING. A BIT AFTER THE FIRST TORNADO WARNING. 😀

my favorite EAS was a misfire while I was still in high school. We got an EAS for a location about an hour south of me, and all it said was "stay indoors, heightened police presence nearby" ...this was for port deposit, maryland. we then got an EAS thirty-ish minutes later that clarified that no, this only had to do with port deposit, and locations not near port deposit were fine.

One time during a house inspection, I got an EAS notification for an outage of emergency service phones. I did a bit of digging and found out that the alert was for Massachusetts, not New Hampshire, where I live and was located at the time. Shortly after, I got another alert saying to disregard the previous one as it did not apply... to Vermont. I was not particularly close to either of those states at the time.

A 4channer uploaded a photo anonymously to the site showcasing his feet in a plastic bin of lettuce. With the statement: "This is the lettuce you eat at Burger King." Admittedly, he had shoes on. But that's even worse. The post went live at 11:38 PM on July 16, and a mere 20 minutes later, the Burger King in question was alerted to the rogue employee. At least, I hope he's rogue. How did it happen? Well, the BK employee hadn't removed the Exif data from the uploaded photo, which suggested the culprit was somewhere in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. This was at 11:47. Three minutes later at 11:50, the Burger King branch address was posted with wishes of happy unemployment. 5 minutes later, the news station was contacted by another 4channer. And three minutes later, at 11:58, a link was posted: BK's "Tell us about us" online forum. The foot photo, otherwise known as exhibit A, was attached. Cleveland Scene Magazine contacted the BK in question the next day. When questioned, the breakfast shift manager said "Oh, I know who that is. He's getting fired." Mystery solved, by 4chan. Now we can all go back to eating our fast food in peace.”

I remember chatting with some people on roblox during the hawaii one. There were some people from there who were freaking out because of it… but they still continued playing the game we were on. It was crazy.

The EAS beep sound terrifies the crap out of me because as a kid my family lived in a tornado-prone area of Georgia for a while and DEAR GOD. The primal, childhood fear of that sound! That and the tornado sirens! (We were all safe, no tornados actually hit us.) It was especially bad at night.

Onetime, I was in my aunts house (at Elk Grove), and people were watching TV but till the noise of the tv stopped, red lines appeared, and then there where the nuke meme sound effects. then words appeared on the red lines and there was a voice that read the words. When it was done, the sfx’s stopped, and the red lines and words where gone, and then the tv had its noise again. The emergency warning keeps happening every few minutes. The emergency said that there was a fire near Elk Grove. 😢
