You would think that telepaths would know by now that trying to connect with Wolverine's mind while he's really pissed off is a bad idea, only makes things worse. Not only was he trained to mentally block telepaths by Professor X and Jean Grey, in this case shutting off and going feral, his rage counters their empathy, cancels them out and gives them a whopping headache.
