He almost chopped her head clean off until that guy with fire burned Wolverine to a crisp. And even then he still kept coming at her. Then she gave up fighting and then so did he.

You would think that telepaths would know by now that trying to connect with Wolverine's mind while he's really pissed off is a bad idea, only makes things worse. Not only was he trained to mentally block telepaths by Professor X and Jean Grey, in this case shutting off and going feral, his rage counters their empathy, cancels them out and gives them a whopping headache.
