The song starts by giving you the impression that it will indeed set up Vox as a threath, but the moment he's on air he starts nervously rambling to ridicule Alastor in any way he can, only for Alastor to confidently turn the tables on him. Let's not forget that Alastor is a possible antagonist. I like how this song play's with your expectations by starting as a Vox villain song, but ending as an Alastor villain song. Tho I do agree that because of this there is no moment where Vox feels like a threat. It's not a problem yet because he wasn't important to the plot in s1, but he will be in s2 as the V's will be s2's main antagonist as far as I know, so I hope they will solve this next season. I think they mightl play into the injury Alastor got at the end of s1, making him more vulnerable and Vox. 17:50 The joke is that Angel keeps teasing Husk while Husk is on his last straw and yes, I do think that's funny. 18:00 YES! So I watched Restoration recently and I have to be honest, I think I prefer the Shisno Trilogy. Don’t get me wrong, Restoration was good. And yeah season 13 was the perfect ending, but Restoration just didn’t give me same rvb energy that seasons 15-17 at least delivered. But that’s just my own opinion

your critics i mostly agree with aside, the reason theyre in hell is cus angel died from overdosing his namesake drug and is the son of a mobster family when he was human (same goes for his brother who made a cameo near the end of the season) as for pentious, in terms of the leaked voiced animations the best i can describe is it relates to him having multiple eyes as a demon as for the cannibal kid, the cannibals as a subspecies used to be hellborns in the pilot but was changed to sinners in the show, this is also why the cannibals are the only sinners that look the same since sinners are supposed to have a unique design

32:57 the thing though that drives me bonkers about episode 5 is that it reveals how passive Charlie is as a protagonist. She has spent the past 4 episodes doing nothing but complain about her plan. This is the first time any progress has been shown towards her goal. Why didn’t this dad plan come up immediately???? And Alastor being a father figure comes out of literal nowhere as he’s been doing literally nothing for episodes. Like when they reveal how close to the deadline the were it was baffling. Like nothing has happened!!!! Like this episode is honestly good but comes out of nowhere and reveals how inept all previous episodes were at forwarding the plot.

I’m happy that someone talked about Angel. I have zero issue with him in CONCEPT, but I agree that how the show wrote him was terrible. The older versions of him seemed like a guy was rude, stand offish, and probably secretly ashamed of his life. Which would MAKE SENSE because he’s a sinner. But if someone confronted him about it, he would deny it. I enjoy Husk and Angel’s romantic relationship in CONCEPT. I think Angel should have had a crush on Husk, but because of his contract and self-loathing he’s stand offish towards Husk. I think Husk should remain the same character and episode 4 should still happen where Husk calls Angel out, but in the context of “you’re so rude at me but I know you actually like me.” The poison song happens, Angel comes back confronts Husk about that comment, leaves to self-destruct where Husk finds him at the bar. The song “loser baby,” could have been a confession song where Angel says “look, I like you, but my contract with Val states I can never love another person.” And BAM - C plot built. I sucks, because I enjoy Angel but how the team wrote him SUCKED. And you wouldn’t even know his story unless you followed Viv for the last 10 years.

I can never get into this kind of video essay where it's like, "i don't like THIS media, but i like THAT media. That's because THAT media does THAT, whereas THIS media doesn't." Vox is obviously set up as a clown with a god complex. The fact that he gets shut down in HIS OWN SONG is proof enough of that. The problem isn't that he's oh so threatening on his own. If that was the intention then yes, it would fall flat. The problem is that Aleister, the undisputed powerhouse of the Hotel team, is preoccupied with a personal rivalry.

for Angel Dust, I have seen MANY people talk about his SA rep and how being overly sexual is a coping mechanism many can relate to and many think he is good rep. But unfortunately, a LOT more people seem to see it as offensive, cringe, and/or playing into gay stereotypes. Angel Dust is only good if you look at him through VERY specific lens from a very specific angle and that isn't how art works, everyone is gonna have unique views and they aren't always going to align with how you want to view them. Yes, a few people get your point and think it's good Vivzie, what about the massive chunk of people who don;t and find it offensive? As for Alastor, he was majorly hyped up in the Pilot (which is canon and on KZbin, it much better introduces the characters imo) and the entire second half is just Alastor coming in to make the deal with Charlie, there are much more sound effects and charm as many people say there which they feel is lacking in the show. He is clearly meant to be a Faustian demon here to make a deal with Charlie to fuck over the hotel later but there are a few issues: 1. The Bill Cipher comparison, everyone compared him to Bill as well but here is the difference between the two: Bill is the main villain of a show about weird mysteries and he rarely shows up. He is given a sense of dread and is actually allowed to act on his super chaos good dream demon powers. Him being a villain also gives him those breakdowns you like. Alastor However is on the main characters' side and is a constant presence. So you can't just give him some random stuff to throw his power at unless you want a very disposable setting. So the show basically just has him go "oooh, look at how scary and mysterious I am". 2. The Power Tiers. In the world of Hazbin/Helluva, collectively known as the Hellaverse, there is a tier list of specific types of demons. From weakest to strongest (and therefore lowest to highest in Hell's authority) it goes Imps/Hellhounds -> regular Hellborn (like Succubi) -> Sinners -> Overlords -> The Ars Goetia (royal demons) -> The Seven Sins (who rule each of the seven rings, Hazbin only takes place in Pride) -> Charlie -> Lilith -> Lucifer. Alastor is an Overlord, supposedly the strongest Overlord based on Vaggie's description in the Pilot of being one of the most powerful beings Hell has ever seen and taking out Overlords who have been dominant for centuries. BUT, A. we have Charlie who is 3 tiers above him in power so she should be able to crush Alastor she just sucks at fighting and is too nice, and B. as the shows went on, especially Helluva, we were introduced to so many characters that were at and above Alastor in power. So Alastor has been getting hit with Fraud allegations ever since the end of S1 where Adam, who is the leader of the Exorcists who are stronger than Sinners, basically two shots him the second he actually starts trying.

Tbh huge props to you for giving it a shot! I will admit I am a big fan of the show but I understand it's not flawless and tbh, it taught me a lot on what to and what not to do with my own story I've been writing! Also nice to hear you like the music!!! Great video!!!

Listen, there’s a lot of flaws with the writing on Angel Dust. If his character is not your cup of tea, that’s one thing, but you don’t have to make things up about his character being one note. The hotel is not subtle, for better or worse, and there’s present development that Angel undergoes. It’s rushed, but it happens.

I've been following the development of this game for about a year and a half, as such it has been my most anticipated release this year and playing through it was such a BLAST! (pun fully intended)
