The actual Latin translation and interpretation is interesting. It’s like reading a blow by blow story from over 1000 years ago!

That Tostig portrait reminds me of that portrait of Harold from that 1066 movie poster, however, it never came out.

Is there a date on the Bayeux Tapestry?

No, it's time of creation is estimated. Very early though. Usually historians say in the immediate years after Hastings.

Another fantastic epic production, so glad I found your channel. I had always been curious about this period in our history which seemed to not garner as much as attention as they deserve. I remember discovering the Plantagenets and feeling the same. I am now binging on your awesome videos and watching over as so much information. You’ve brought these fascinating and important people alive, who I ashamedly had been ignorant of. Thank you for sharing and your hard work 😊🫡 You deserve a far bigger following and I hope you get that, algorithms can be weird at times.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. Unfortunately, I work alone and I earn a living from KZbin so I can't really pour too much time into projects that get little return in terms of views, etc. Bad luck, I guess. Oh well. :) I've always loved medieval figures. The Plantagenets are favourites too, but it all started with me (i.e. historical interest) with getting into the 1066 era. :)

@@HistoryHubChannel I understand, you never know, things can change and I hope they go well for you 😊 It must be very time consuming to produce, the quality far exceeds the standard of TV docu. All round great production, packed with so much information but your script and narration really draws the viewer in. I had always wanted to learn more about this period but there seemed not much or was rather brief and dry. Very grateful to you 😊 I’m going to be watching them over and over 😂 Wishing you all the very best
