I like them both, but if I had to choose one over the other, EA gets the win. More realistic graphics, and it has the Masters and US Open. Plus, it had Pebble Beach at launch, where 2K had to add it through an update. Now that both have Pinehurst, I pick up 2K once in a while, but my vote still goes to EA.

I am a MyPlayer exclusive sports gamer, but EA has been nothing but a let down year after year in FIFA and Madden, as they just never ever make improvements or add things players want. Their physics engine and graphics are just hype EA uses to hide all the flaws.

Personally I’m all about the immersion, and even without all the famous courses on EA, I can’t get over how bad the graphics are on 2k 23, it honestly looks like a game from 2018.

I can’t seem to figure this game out fully.. aside from being super buggy sometimes I’ll hit a perfect drive and the ball will go some where completely unpredictable.. I try to factor in wind and shot shape but still every so often I end up 20 yds outside where I’m aiming.

My best guess is your swing plane is likely off a bit. Each shot there are two main components of the swing mechanic. Timing and swing plane/path. Timing is where you see the result as fast,slow or perfect. Plane/path being the actual line going down and up in the swing meter. If either one are off then your dispersion will increase. I’d recommend paying attention to both and perhaps even dialing back the difficulty level to an easier setting to get used to both. If both are closer to perfect the ball should go exactly where you intended pending the weather and course conditions.

Personal preference at the end of the day. For me, I strongly lean towards 2k's product. Gameplay feels much better and they have endless amounts of courses with the course designer. EA wins on a landslide in the graphics department but that isn't nearly as important as gameplay to me.

they have a user created one in game, 2k doesnt have the rights to the masters so you have to search for it

At the time of the video it was unknown. Both have 3 click option as well as swing stick.

how do you spin on sim mode in ea pga?

Spin is added by increasing loft. It is not as clear as in 2k but essentially thats how you would do it.

@@Kilbride10 So I guess it's more like real life where you can't just spin anything, it's a consequence of hitting a wedge or low iron higher up in the air. I guess if you did a draw or fade it would add a little side spin too.

I bought EA PGA Tour early on. Not a fan. Downloaded PGA Tour 2k23 and I enjoy this game much more. I was a huge fan of Tiger Woods back in the day. EAs new game feels too slow. The store options are too limited. I actually find the gameplay harder and more frustrating even on the easiest setting. Pro golfer roster is also not as good (in my opinion). Im ready to return EA PGA Tour and stick with 2k23.

Everyone loves 2k lol…I love ea golf for easier reasons graphics are usually better you actually have to develop your swing cause it’s full motion ea is a harder Game then 2k so people love 2k lol

4:27 Well, that didn't age very well, did it? Pro pass is a pay-to-win system that allows people to basically buy their way to a good golfer. You'll get XP faster if you pay them more money. It's the #1 worst thing about the EA. As if the totally unreasonable $70 price tag wasn't enough. Madden Ultimate Team more than anything else ruined the game of Madden. 2k23, to be fair, is also shameless with trying to sell you stuff but at least for them it IS cosmetic only, you can play the game just fine without it.

Best and worst of each: 2k: Best = More realistic gameplay, Custom courses, Worst=commentary and extremely complex and convoluted upgrade/fittings system. EA: Best = Graphics, physics, good variety of courses. Worst=Player progression, "Pro Pass" (which let's face it it's a Pay-To-Win system that allows you to buy your way to a better character. Head to head competition among developers. Responsive development teams. 2 year development cycles. Imagine if they did this with football? Madden might be slightly playable. I have no problem with the 2k career mode. The problem is that the system of skill points, fittings, fit fees is so complex and convoluted that it's hard to level up your player. Plus 2k is extremely stingy with currency. Truth is I go back and forth between the two. I use EA when I want the career mode, but for casual golf I still give 2k the slight edge because of custom courses.

Pros (as opposed to 2k23): Better graphics, much better commentary. I just love Lerner and Nobilo! Lots of real-life courses. Difficulty levels that can give a good golfer a challenge while not frustrating people like me. Cons: Glacial player progression. Pay-to-win system of "Pro Pass" that relies on paying them more $$$ for the best upgrades. Tournaments are a good idea but too easy for advanced players to ruin it. 2k is guilty of this too, but just for cosmetic stuff. No custom course designer. The thing about realistic tournament associations and the atmosphere of the big events, that really isn't important to me at all, since I don't follow golf as a sport.

All good points 👍. For me the most important part is gameplay and I feel like 2k delivers on that much better. Everyone has their preferences though and each will hopefully do better on their next release

but what does the other strike manipulation do? With the left stick on xbox? Is it just playing the ball higher or lower? So right stick is all about the spin but still supposed to come out at the same trajectory and left stick is hitting it higher or lower trajectory?

Left stick is trajectory and right stick is spin. Changing the trajectory (loft) will naturally change your spin but the right stick is intended to change spin without changing loft.

EA PFA Tour actually looks next gen, that's massive for a golf game. 2k looks like it was made for the last gen. Also the depth of the career is handedly with EA and that's maybe the most important aspect for me.

Ea definitely wins on graphics. Both have subpar career modes. I personally prefer 2k due to the online competition and the quantity of courses makes for much better replay ability

What the hell is going on with the delay when waiting for opponents to hit shots in the challenges? Almost unplayable. And the useless tap-ins. I’ve actually missed some auto tap-ins. How the hell does that work? ☹️

Have both games, Despite mixed review on EA PGA Tour, but I still prefer the EA PGA Tour. I don't know how my laptop performance and fps is stable playing EA PGA Tour rather than 2K23 with same setting (High), which with that setting the graphic still better on EA PGA Tour. And the control are much easy on EA PGA Tour (3 click and Analog Swing in EA PGA Tour feels more forgiving). Also using bluetooth controller weirdly I feel more delays on 2K23. The plus side from 2K23 is Course designer and can get course from community, and it seems many mode you can play and it's cheaper (with discount it's almost half the price of EA PGA Tour).
