what America could of been if not for the stupid automobile

in America that rout would be a very wide two lane road with a center turning land the whole way

This is actually a dream city of mine! Wow. I commute to work and to university and it can be rough at times.

I don't know, but I find your videos so relaxing. I don't have a bike (yet) but I am preparing to have it (even managed to have a space for it in special-bike-closet in our block of flats)! And it's all thanks to your videos. Watching those cities, so well commuted with bikes and cars are making me happy. Thank you! I wish Poland have same bike-cars commute, there would be more respect between those drivers and surely less accidents. 😁 Also - how to not get tired and sweaty so fast, while driving...? Am I doing something wrong? 😭

If you want more safe separated bike paths in your city, start a bike activism group. Organize critical mass rally of cyclists. Most important that children cycle too in your rally. In most cases left wing politicians are pro bike. If you cycle slow you won't get tired and sweaty. And with a washing cloth you can wash yourself at your job.

Hi thanks for your question. I unfortunately am no camera expert, I only use the new iPhone camera to record videos and photos. I think the newest phones are quite good quality for amateur level projects, but of course to get to the next level you need special equipment. Sorry I can’t help more!

Ok so any thoughts on coaster brakes on Dutch bikes? I'm gonna get a bike soon, but most with internal geared hubs seem to have pedal-brakes (with a regular hand brake on the front wheel though). Any opinions?

im going to ask a dumb question, why do some car owners cover wheels of their cars ? i know that people use car covers to protect the paint work, but if you watch the video, you will see cover the wheels of their car with towels but not the paintwork, why is that ? is it s dutchy thing ? or a euro thing ?

This is just surreal. All the large universities here in the U.S. (especially those with a large commuter population) are surrounded by this enormous wasteland of car parking. I'm so envious of your country's cycling culture.

I also have studied in the US and remember that as well… some campuses are better than others with biking infrastructure on or around it, but certainly not like here

Hi! I have a question, what gear do you use to film these videos on your phone? Do you have a chest strap or a phone mount? I'm really interested in filming cycling videos of my commute to uni, I'm about to graduate and I'd love to have videos like this to remind me of my time studying in the Netherlands <3
@camonthemove10 ай бұрын
Hello, I use a chest strap. See link below. Also, the newest iPhone is needed if you want to use action mode to eliminate vibrations. Otherwise you could maybe use an editing software to do it afterwards. www.amazon.nl/-/en/gp/aw/d/B0753GWZRT?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image

@michiobosozoku4898 ай бұрын
It's not forbidden. As you can read in the comments the dutch know how to bike and are not used to wearing any protection while biking. You might also notice that motorized traffic is mostly seperated from the pedalling traffic, reducing high speed collision risk. Therefore it is essential to learn how to bike before participating on the public road.

That looks so adorable in some way. I wonder how common stealing bikes is in The Netherlands? That's what prevents me from riding a bike in a big city in Poland the most...
@camonthemove10 ай бұрын
Bike theft does happen but generally uncommon, so it’s pretty safe to use a bike to commute. Nicer bikes sometimes have GPS trackers

There is a fascinating theory that, of all man made manufactured industrial products in history, the bicycle is the only one that, if aliens came to Earth and there were no traces of humanity at all, that by studying it, they could understand how human bodies were physiologically, like two articulated lower limbs that were attached to a torso that rested on the saddle, and two upper limbs with fingers that manipulated the breaks and gear levers. And, deducing, of course that a "head" of some sort had to be attached to the top of everything. If we think about it, there is no other machine made by humans that allow for this.
