Now that both Dr. Kissinger and Mr. Munger has passed into eternity, I think we can breathe easier as a nation. Both very ‘accomplished’ men were considered in the top rank of ‘friends of China’ but only Dr. Kissinger got that honor in an open and official way, while Charlie Munger never received that kind of ‘honorary degree’ and recognition. I wonder why ? Certainly Henry Kissinger made a much much bigger contribution to China under Mao but that was actually the biggest mistakes that any national security advisor has made in the last century when Henry was counseling Nixon about proper U.S. approach to Soviet Union and China, and how to deal with them, eventually created this really dangerous and monstrous enemy now facing and threatening to our way of life & governance. Even though it was not entirely Kissinger’s fault, he certainly pushed Nixon to that road which we should really regret it happened unnecessarily ! Mr. Charlie Munger maybe one of the shrewdest businessmen in the past 40 years, but he sounded he totally lacked even superficial understanding of geopolitical issues for which we went through two major regional proxy hot wars, plus many other smaller ones. It’s pretty unexpected and surprising to me that a man of his standing in the U.S. investment world could be so inadequate in these basic knowledges! I am glad he is gone and his foolish idea about how to best deal with China under strict control of a communism regime will gradually be equalized by people with sane geopolitical mind and leaders who will weigh his/her opinions before expressing them so carelessly.

He's wrong about India's economy which grew at 8%. Why is China's economy ailing right now with a huge property overhang with 30% of its GDP involving real estate and 300% in terms of total debt to the GDP ratio compared to the US at 130% even with a 34 trillion dollar debt ceiling? . So he's off and he's speaking quite emotionally even though he sounds factual. Look at the data India may be growing slowly but it's solid and stable democracy has a price; it slows you down, managing diversity slows you down, so he cannot compare China to the US or to India only stupidity can. There's a difference with homogeneous systems and diverse systems. And that's a value judgment that will choose which one it prefers However be wise and know that the world is increasingly diverse and interconnected. The world is not like China and China is not like the world but China needs the world more than it realizes to grow.if it wants to continue to grow. China is also The most rapidly aging society in the world with high youth unemployment over 20%. Apparently manga has not mother about non-linear analysis. He has just extrapolated from the past using the old growth model. So this is dangerous linear extrapolation is not even high school standard. He may be a super wealthy man but the world is not made up of his thinking The world is much more diverse thankfully with different values and things go up and down not because of fluctuation but because there are other factors in the world which cannot be seen in predicted. Finally spirituality does sober us. China and Communism needs to find that. that. The world and our ecosystem isn't just about money.. I'm not talking about religion.

Too bad Munger failed to take into account a similar attitude with Japan in the 80's, when it seems like the land of the rising sun too, were projected to surpass America, pre-1995, and those old enough to remember, can recall how that turned out--BUT in China's case, could he have foreseen how the China he's praising of then, will turn out under Xi Jinping, a la failed COVID lockdowns, cracking down on Hong Kong, i.e., the only legitimate gateway for accepting foreign direct investment (NOT Shanghai, nor Hainan--and definitely not Beijing), hence the capital flight (both foreign AND indigenously Chinese). I don't know of any investment guru that would ever suggest putting money into an institutionally corrupt nation of plummeting demographics. If Munger actually still believed in Chinese inevitability (despite of said corruption & demographic collapse), then he should be best remembered as an over-glorified Jim Cramer, i.e., whatever he strongly recommends to invest in, DO THE OPPOSITE--especially with how many Chinese EVs are seemingly self-identifying as self-cremating cars...

The United States imposed its dominance not by becoming the best in everything but by preventing others from becoming the best. Every time a country tried to compete, the Americans rigged the competition and when that was not enough, they destroyed the competitor through corruption and war. This evil empire, worthy heir to the British empire which has used the same methods for 200 years, is coming to the end of its existence simply because its methods no longer work. Indeed Russia and China are too smart, too big and too powerful for the methods of the CIA and the American military-industrial-financial complex to succeed in destroying them. It remains to be seen whether the diabolical leaders of the USA are ready to go as far as nuclear war to destroy these competitors. Except that this time, the Americans risk annihilation. When Americans are beaten by their own rules, they change the rules, accuse their competitors of cheating when they are the ones cheating. Accusing China of being able to spy with 5G technology or TIKTOK while the USA has been spying on the whole world for decades says a lot about this evil empire which fortunately is collapsing.

Why these Japanese want a Gaza ceasefire? I'm thinking either the cultural propensity to blindly follow orders like a failed Milgram test (i.e., the anti-colonialism narratives of Palestine & Japan--never mind the fact how both are embodying their versions of colonialism, a la The Mosque on the base/ruins of The Temple On The Mount, WW2 in China, Indonesia, etc...), or how some Japanese are embodying their long time latent anti-Semitism, thanks in part to naively accepting anything the darker side of Western cultural chic, a la Marx & Darwinism. Either way, it's a Sunday school lesson on why you should never abide in the Confucian virtue of obedience--lest you end up becoming like Adolf Eichmann in an Israeli court--and I already know of the JRA terrorist attack on Lodi Airport...

WARS & ECONOMY TO LAST, ANGLO-AMERICAN CAPITALISM, CREATED BY ENGLAND MORE THAN 400 YEARS AGO, MUST DEMONSTRATE THAT NO OTHER SYSTEM CAN WORK. OR, ANGLO-AMERICAN CAPITALISM IS A PYRAMID ENTERPRISE (A PONZI SCHEME) WHICH REQUIRES A CONSTANT INFLUX OF NEW WEALTH WHICH THE ENGLISH AND AMERICANS STOLE AND LOOTED FROM OTHER NATIONS UNTIL THEY REVOLT. TO ENSURE THIS SYSTEM PERTINUES, THE ENGLISH AND THEN THE AMERICANS HAVE NIPPED ANY ATTEMPT TO SET UP AN ALTERNATIVE ECONOMIC SYSTEM WHICH WOULD HAVE WORKED BETTER THAN THEIR OWN. HENCE THE MANY INTERVENTIONS, BOYCOTS, SANCTIONS AND WARS LEAD BY THESE TWO PARASITIC NATIONS, INCLUDING THE COLD WAR WHICH DIVIDED THE WORLD INTO TWO BLOCKS.. THE ENTIRE GEOPOLITICS OF THE LAST FOUR CENTURIES IS EXPLAINED BY THIS REALITY: THE NEED TO STEAL THE WEALTH OF OTHER NATIONS, PRIMARILY AFRICAN, ASIAN AND SOUTH AMERICAN, AND THE NEED TO HINDER AND DESTROY ANY ATTEMPT TO ESTABLISH AN ECONOMIC SYSTEM DIFFERENT. TODAY, CHINA, RUSSIA AND THE BRICS HAVE SUCCEEDED IN ESTABLISHING SUCH A SYSTEM AND THE CONSEQUENCE IS THAT THE PARASITIC ANGLO-AMERICAN ECONOMIC SYSTEM IS COLLAPSING.

Seems like Munger is remarkably ignorant of China's history and the appalling track record of the CCP. Dollar signs should not trump moral standards. I think we are correct in removing US assistance to China. We financed this growth to our, and the world's detriment. I don't know what Charlie's motivations are, but I would say similar views to his are exactly what is wrong with America today.
