Would rather have people from out of state understand some of the things that clients and friends have noted when moving from California. Would rather save them from making a mistake. If they dont mind things noted, then come on over.

Texas being a red state is one of the best things about it. These people moving here from blue states are doing so for a reason, and usually that reason is because the place they're moving from is a complete dump/insane asylum. The last thing we need is to have a bunch of these people moving here, then trying to turn Texas into the same type of dump they just left.

We built a home with Shaddock Homes, and while the sales process was decent, the experience after moving in has been a nightmare. Their warranty process is horrific-once you’re moved in, they refuse to fix anything. It’s incredibly disappointing to invest in a new home and feel completely abandoned by the builder. The lack of accountability and support has made what should be an exciting experience incredibly frustrating. Sadly, we cannot recommend Shaddock Homes to anyone. Proceed with caution if you’re considering them.

okay a lower salary...but what is the standard of living? In San Francisco, $70,000 would afford a small apartment at $50,000 year.

Dallas just affords you a lot more options since the DFW metro is so huge. There are areas more expensive than San Francisco, but also affordable areas as well. Just depends on what’s important to people when choosing where to live.

DFW house's are over valued, home owners insurance is high, property taxes are high, traffic is a nightmare, it's hot as hell in the summer 90 to 100, take it from someone who lived in dfw and Austin for 15 yrs , you better do your research, these houses have doubled in price, way over valued.

@whymovetodallas my last address was in Caroliton but before then I lived in the NE Dallas areas- Forest& Royal Lanes. I lived in Sachse TX too on 78N . Working and schooling full time, I would drive 35 /NW Hwy/ 183/360 to get to Arlington and then 30/75/635 to get back home. I did this three days a week. I used to get the most frustration on 635 because of how quickly the concrete road dividers were moved in place before dark. I was a night time driver too, and sharing those narrow lanes with semi trucks doing 80/90mph was not fun🤣. Somehow, Jesus kept me safe!

I hate Dallas. I hate it now I used to not let’s start with working on the road all the roads everywhere you go tour the hell up and they have a nerve to work on semi five 635 and every road on the weekend at the same time is the most backward town I’ve ever lived in. The aquarium that I went to visit looks terrible. Going out to eat. The food is awful serving box frozen in Walmart food. The people that are born in Dallas are so misinformed that you can’t even have a conversation with them because they only have one black college. The Black people in Dallas reminds me of something from matrix of the twilight zone they have no energy of their own matter fact they have no community of their own and the little bit they have is being taken away and they just sit there the white people in Dallas told him to, every event mostly is catered to the white audience but yet you have more Spanish people. They can’t drive. Let me say this again. They cannot drive. They don’t follow rules. They’re hardheaded. They will ask you a question and then answer for you but overall, it’s a great place to live I guess, if you like potholes😂

All the type of taxes that are associated with an address negates no income tax and you can’t do anything about it and it keeps you from buying a decent house. If you look at what your cost are gonna be to live in that house and the pages of different type of taxes that are associated with that address is shocking for a California. We just pay 1.2% of the purchase price and that works because people move about every five years at least you can budget the way Texas does taxes on a property. There’s no way to budget.
