Hackery!... I know this is 3 years ago, but why the crap would you NOT shorten and properly flare the lines from the center block out to the new hard points [like LMR suggests] rather than twist the s--t out of the outer ends of the lines all around shock mount area? [You quickly passed over that] Or even run new shorter lines? [You a got 25 ft roll of nice CuNi brake line] And why did you not use the holes in the underbody made specifically for the center mount, but move it over to give the flexible line more twist? PS: Please don't answer just dont work on brakes anymore. PPS: The 93 3.8 thunderbird turbo coupe and the 93 5.0 Mustang Cobra rear disc brakes are the same units.

What holds that rubber hose to the bracket mounted in the floor board? Is it just a clip retainer? I have to replace my rear hard lines and wanted to remove the soft line along with the hardlines as one unit.

If memory serves me correctly only the metal lines were fastened to the body, the rubber line just fasten to the metal brake lines. Hope that helps.

I got mine from “Parts Avatar” but LMR also sells them. If LMR doesn’t have them they can give you the contact info for a place in Georgia (somewhere around there) which has a lot of Mustang parts. Take the old one out (5 minute job) it will help you find the exact replacement you need. Hope that helps.

@@hansparis5860 ok and thank you for the information. I went to two different parts store and they couldn't find it. If that place in Georgia got one I can drive to it if it ain't too far from Chattanooga. You got a good looking mustang!! I still have a lot to do on mine but at least I can drive it lol. I got a few videos of it on my KZbin channel.

Hi John, Yeah so bad I rarely drive outside the city at night. I found some real good LED headlights on Amazon and with the lower power draw wired all 4 lights on low and all 4 lights on high beam and I can see further down the road than a lot of newer cars. Worth the investment and the wow factor of the light combinations is like cream in my coffee. Happy motoring. Blessings, Hans

So when you buy these new, does it come with the metal and rubber part, all in one piece?
@hansparis5860 Жыл бұрын
Hey Mustang Suff, the part is complete and all one piece. To note if you’re going to replace the outer beltline you should also do the inner - it’s a separate part. Got mine from LMR. They’re real tight to install which is good that way they don’t pop back out. I did the mistake of prying mine a little and forever it keeps poping up a little, so I just ordered a new one and will go through the process again since I’m taking the door apart to install the new flush door handles LMR is selling. Hope that helps. Blessings, Hans

I have an 82 moded mustang I installed a 1 inch spacer on my carb almost identical set up but theres no slack/pedal gets stuck. do you think If i ordered the 85 cable itll work out for me? im not sure but according to amazon it says the 85 wont fit the 82 and vice versa. thanks
@hansparis58602 жыл бұрын
Hi Oliver, I’m not sure but I would not go the Amazon route. You’d have better luck calling the folks at Late Model Reso (LMR) or CJ pony they specialize in Mustangs so they should be able to assist. I think they also sell a universal cable that is adjustable also in case you run out of options there is a place in Georgia (you’d have to google them I can’t remember the company name) that can get you used parts, I’ve used them before for my 5.0 front spindles they specialize in Mustangs. BTW the LMR folks can give you the contact info for the Georgia used mustang part place they’re the ones who put me in to them. Hope this helps. Blessings, Hans

Everything installed have leak at bracket. I installed crush washers on both side of block. Any idea to get this to seal?
@hansparis58602 жыл бұрын
Hi Tim, I also had some leak issues on my system after installing. You got it correct one crush washer on each side of the block. I just kept tightening my bolt until the leak stopped, it seemed to me that I was on the border of stripping my bolt but the leak did stop. I bought a set of break wrenches for the project so I didn’t strip the bolt heads. Hope this helps. Blessings, Hans

Replaced crush washers and it finally sealed. How close is the brake line to the body at location of bracket. Mine is touching the body.
@hansparis58602 жыл бұрын
Hi Tim, glad you stopped the leak. Going by memory I believe my brake line at the bracket is also touching the body. Their fixed lines with no movement so that shouldn’t be an issue.

Just finish mine and have a leak as well. Did you push new washers?? Or just took them off?
@hansparis58602 жыл бұрын
Hey Alfredo, yeah I used new washers and made the connections real tight to stop the leaks and that was using the preformed lines which had pre-installed connectors. I bought a set of brake line wrenches and glad I did because I think otherwise I would have stripped the connectors. Good luck, hope that helps. Blessings, Hans

So mine was a 4 cylinder and is routed different. What can I do for plugging up existing hole? I have to route it this way cause rubber hose is way to close to tail pipes.
@hansparis58602 жыл бұрын
Hi Tim, my car was a 4 cylinder before the last owner changed it to a 302 8 cylinder. You do not want to plug the hole on the axle as it also serves as a vent, if you seal it you have a good chance of blowing out your seals. It’s actually called a “rear axle housing vent” and can be purchased from LMR part #LRS-4022A, it was $15.99 a couple years ago when I bought mine so it’s not an expensive part. When I did the brake upgrade I had no idea what that bolt was for but someone who viewed the video let me know the above. Hope this helps. Blessings Hans

I am struggling to get that metal clip back on
@hansparis58602 жыл бұрын
Hi Treyton, yeah I remember that was a pain. If you bent the clip any when you removed the old cable make sure it’s formed the best to its original shape. Taking it off was the hard part, keep the clip to last you should be able to just slide it back on. You notice I had to remove a bracket on the inside to get my hand in there, you should remove that bracket or you won’t be able to get back in there for the install. Walk away take a short brake (a little prayer goes a long way) and then try it again. Sorry can’t be much more help than that, hope that helps. Blessings Hans
@treytongilbert54282 жыл бұрын
@@hansparis5860 ya haha, mines an 88 so they decided to make that bracket permanent and you can’t take it off. I got it on the cable but I don’t really understand how to get it to stay because it just fell off. Does it clip on to something?

Do I have to switch that junction over that on the passenger side can I make it work without changing the v4 hard lines for the v8
@hansparis58602 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike. When I bought the old style brake conversion kit (there is a new style available now not sure how different it is from this kit) from LMR I also bought all the molded brake lines that go along with it which is mostly why I did the switching around. If you didn’t buy all the new molded lines I don’t see any issue with just making your own lines from the v4 position to the new brakes. Just make sure the flex line at the old v4 position is in good shape, if you change the master cylinder the increased pressure on the rear system may blow it out…. I’m not a mechanic but that would be what I’d check if keeping the old configuration. Hope this helps, good luck. The drum to disk conversion has been a great upgrade on my car, she stops pretty good now. Note my passenger side dust cover mounting bolts when turning at speed rubbed into my new rear rotors so I removed both rear dust shields turned out they were rubbing on both rear rotors. This may be one of the reasons for the new kits at LMR - not sure. Check your clearance if it’s tight you may want to consider not using the dust shields save you tearing things apart after the conversion. Blessings, Hans

I’m seeing the same issue on my driver side. If you recently purchased the belt line check with your supplier They might replace it for you. I’m wondering if I sprung mine when I installed it and that’s why it’s not staying in place. I have this on my to do list to get another new one and hope it stays in place. wHATS THE TORQUE SPEC FOR THAT BANJO BOLT?
@hansparis58603 жыл бұрын
Hi Jee, Yeah great question. I made and installed a bunch of new brake connections and I tightened them by hand (no torque setting). It's mostly by feel till the crush washers are compressed. I did find a couple leaks afterwards and tightened them more until they stopped leaking. The problem is if you make your brake connections some of them don't seal 100% so they may need additional tightening which is why you may have a hard time finding torque settings. Probably not the answer you were looking for but i hope it helps. Blessings, Hans

@hansparis58603 жыл бұрын
Hi David, yes I had to remove the mirror to remove/install the weather stripping (beltline?). Item to note the new parts are snug fit try not to spring them apart to ease installation. I did this a little on mine and the new driver side weather stripping keeps working its way loose now. U ever deal with any lumen stuff ?
@hansparis58603 жыл бұрын
Hey Dan, nope never took any measurements from the old nor the new lights so I have no idea how many lumens I have. The biggest problem with these projector headlights is bad design they disperse light as opposed to focus it. Look real cool but border on unsafe to drive at night. I usually find a car with bright headlights and drive behind them and use their headlights and a little praying never hurts either lol. That’s even with the height wattage Sylvania bulbs I use.. Blessings, Hans
