Highway 17 Cotton candy rain Driving with my lover We missed our plane So we added on the hours To see the Lupin flowers Way up passed the border We blew through Thunder Bay The pine trees are narrow A billion broken arrows The Ravens and crows Robins and the Sparrows All across Ontario Static on the stereo And swimming in the Lake Old woman bay Traveling with some stuff I left when I was a kid Mr bear and the Woden box I hid Full of broken gadgets That don’t mean nothing now The only thing I’ll keep Are the letters and the photographs In two days it’s my birthday I’ll be 33 That doesn’t really matter Next to eternity But I like a double number And I like an odd one too. And everything I see from now on will be something new I’m afraid of getting older That’s what I’ve learned to say Society has given me the words to think that way The message spins and spirals Don’t get saggy don’t get gray But the soft and lovely silvers are now falling on my shoulder. My mother and my grandma My great grandmother too Wrinkle like the River Sweeten like the dew. And as silver as the rainbow scales That shimmer purple blue How can beauty that is living Be anything but true. So let gravity be my sculpted Let the wind do my hair Let me dance in front of people Without a care Let me be naked alone With nobody there With mistmatched sock and shoes and stuff stuffed in my underwear Incomprehensible Let me be

My thought too on first listen (the chorus at least) A lot of Crazy Horse in what they do. Verses are what makes this so affecting though. She has an incredible knack for writing bangers and beauties.

Unfortunately not - but Reddit has a quality audio recording of one of Swedish shows. All Night All Day, second song played at Green Man, solo acoustic was band version in Sweden with killer harmonies from Buck Meek. Ditto band version of ‘Sweeter Skin’ with Buck was beautiful at Green Man - not sure there’s a band version out there anywhere yet
@elephant5994 ай бұрын
i love this, there is nothing more big thief that allowing the audience to sing along and change the lyrics. there’s no extra “incomprehensible” after “let me be” in this song but it’s so beautiful that it happened and they just let it happen, love this band

All a part of the organic live process that will determine how it finally looks when released (IF released that is, knowing just how many great songs she’s debuted last few years on stage either solo or with Big Thief that have not yet seen the light of day). Part of what makes them endlessly fascinating to watch live multiple times, not knowing what’s coming next

Really enjoyed this however comments ref bottom 3 are wide of the mark in my opinion - both QPR and Sheffield Wed have 3 home games in the next 4, could be a very different picture if we don’t pick a win in the next two home games - obviously far more hopeful now we have an experienced duo in charge - don’t exclude Venus when talking about our new management, just like rosenior obviously was a big influence on Rooney KRO

I blame Cook. He appointed Rooney (a manager with an awful track record as a manager). Cook also set Rooney up for a fall with this ‘no fear’ brand of football. Moving forward, though - Mowbray is a fantastic appointment. I’m genuinely enthused about my club for the first time in almost ten years.

I think the damage was done after the Bristol game which came on the back of a battering against Stoke. It wouldn't have gone unnoticed after the euphoria of the first few games and feel good factor that the fans were starting to fade away. A big shout out to the management though - they were ruthless and that is something we wouldn't have had with the Chinese in charge. They made a mistake, owned up to it and made a decision and Tony Mowbray is a great man to have in charge KRO

I’m a season ticket older at Birmingham and I go to a good 40% of a way games. Rooney was only really ever interested in standing at the touchline, eating a packet of monster munch and drinking his Lucozade he just never looked interested. Look at all of his press conferences before and after games he has no interest he was there to take a pay packet. That’s all he was interested in.

It's too late for this now. Rooney's completely destroyed the club. When a manager takes a team from the promotion zone to the relegation zone, it completely shatters morale. You'll need a fresh crew of players and 2-3 years in League One to straighten out this mess. What a disaster. And he still wants to manage, too. Can you believe that? He's looking for another club to destroy!
@Andyferguson-ml4uo11 ай бұрын

Tony Mowbray is a very experienced manager and will not make the mistakes of a young untried manager. As long as he still has the enthusiasm and motivation, which I believe he has, then I think it’s a perfect appointment. ,
